Or you can make the assessment of the height of 4670 Assembly Way, based on the renderings:

I was under the understanding that the heights had been revised since this render was made. The tallest tower is now only 48 floors. I think this render is still showing the older taller building (50+ floors).

Unless you are suggesting to compensate for the fact that five or so floors wont be there?

Oh thank God - because that one block of Metrotown didn't have its own drugstore which was making me worried...

The height you have - is it 118m or 119m? I'd like to know because I have a database of all the 100m towers in the region, but I have barely any info for towers in Burnaby. Only the Amazing Brentwood towers, Altus, and Sovereign had an exact height included in their permit applications.

Which brings me to another question... where did Chad get all his height info from when he made all of the building diagrams? Did he just guess/estimate?
I did rough estimates of the other towers before they were downsized, the tallest was between 180 and 190 meters at the time to the best of my memory (without spire).

Here are the official measurements for the first tower (I did a GIS project years back about Metro town so I was able to get the data for the first phase)

From base to the top of the fins is 373 f (113.69 meters)

The spire is another 20 feet (6.096 m)

Total height = 393 feet (119.8m)

I have the diagrams as well, but don't feel like going through the troubles to post a pdf.

So why is it so hard to get this info for phase 2 and 3?

Someone must know someone working on the site / sales / Burnaby city on this forum. Don;t think the contractors can build the tower without knowing the specs. Pretty sure the city of Burnaby must have said specs as well...

I have written to city hall, and had received the response below:

Quote:
Hello <red-paladin in real life>:

The towers at Station Square are built above three-storey commercial (retail/office) podiums.
Tower 1: 35-storey, Tower 2: 38-storey Tower 3: 48 storey

The rezoning for towers 4 and 5 has not yet had Council approval; these are the proposed heights.
Tower 4: 48-storey, Tower 5: 52-storey.
I asked for heights in metres, but they were unavailable in city documents, and was (happily) referred to this very site for that data!

It's no longer a big "concern" when you don't have such thing as a viewcone.

Thats kind of interesting to me. I wonder how many people at city hall actually visit this site (more specifically this forum) and how often.

Thanks! I will add phase 1 to my "database". The City of Burnaby is really quite bad when it comes to finding out what's going on in the city. And their area plans online are just so vague/non-specific that they are pretty much useless.

But that seems to be the norm with most of the suburbs, at least when it comes to rezoning and development applications. I wish they would all have everything laid out like the COV does, instead of having to sift through council agendas and planning reports just to find a few pages of photocopied information. And then if you're lucky enough to find an elevation drawing or a render, it's often difficult to make anything out. Half the time they're not even in colour.

Surrey and Richmond are quite good. The north shore can be too. But Burnaby has to be the worst. Okay sorry /rant.
