^ not sure if Day is involved in this particular one

On another interesting note, Hines, who will manage KR are working with Northlands on basically a whole site redevelopment. The plans that'll come out shortly should be very interesting

That 108 St. proposal would encompass the El Mirador if I'm reading that right? That's kinda too bad, I like the quirky, out-of-place-iness of those apartments.

El Mirador and the Patricia Annex.

Discussions will be needed on this, for they are excellent examples of courtyard housing and incredibly unique.

I'm not to sure about this one. I've always like El Mirador...maybe just because there isn't anything like it around here. It's one of those weird quirky places with non tangible qualities that once lost can never be recreated. Every time I walk by I think I'm in some Bukowski novel.

Just before you 'kiss the cod' on a schooner off the coast of Newfoundland they like to tell tourists that on a clear day you can see Ireland

Yes, other than the proposed massing, I imagine the loss of El Mirador will be a significant issue for some.

This is the most Edmonton a post could possibly be.

Yes please!! I'm a big believer in Capital Blvd; it will be the next 104street (or even better) in the next decade.

Good progress at a rather challenging Symphony site, Hendrix I am disappointed in so far, but will hold judgement until it is up.

Absolute love the presence Mayfair North has on that corner. What a difference it's going to make.

You sound like it's a done deal. I am sure that something will be worked out with the developer to save it or incorporate it into the development somehow.

Listening to a traffic report. Talked about a closure next weekend for a "crane installation". 100 Ave between 107 and 108. What would that be for?

Knoxvilles getting ripped to the ground will be a happy day for me. Just walking near it is a horribly trashy experience...

It is so incredibly sad that Edmonton has so little to save that you guys get sentimental for crap like the mirador... My god that's sad. It's getting super repetitive and old quickly. "Oh, there tearing down slightly old, obscure building that has mild architectural interest but can be found in great supply elsewhere in North America... In this case probably in some shit town in New Mexico. It must be saved!"

I haven't been in Edmonton for a little under a month again, but last I saw Hendrix it is much better in person. You can't see the materials properly in photograph.
