The lights were on under the glass in the plaza today. And the rain was running off the west end of the arch spine pretty good. The Glowbal seating area nearby was getting a good soaking.

I read a notice somewhere indicating that the weekend crane lift was for moving heavy equipment up to the roof, not taking the Telus crane down. At least that's what I think I read.

That is honestly how the spine thingy sheds water? Just spilling freely onto the sidewalk? Someone dropped the ball there, in my opinion.

For a building in this location, and of this value, I have to think that isnt the final solution.

I think that's a minor thing. Glowball seating is getting soaked because umbrellas are too small.

The rain was particularly heavy when I took those pics. I'm hoping that they are collecting most of the water somehow and what we see running off is just excess overflow. Of course, there is a lot of heavy rain in the future so it'll be interesting to see if they can make any adjustments. Like gutters on the outer edges of the arch so you don't get a line of water coming down onto the plaza and into the restaurant area.

The crane was still there on the older building when I took this pic yesterday about 3:00 PM so I presume it was just heavy equipment lifting they were doing.

And here's a closer look from street level at the alley side and Robson side of the condo tower.

Agreed. The office building turned out pretty damn well but the residential portion is a bit of a mess. So far at least.

Yes, that's supposed to be where the video screen will be seen. Vanville caught a pic of it being tested way back on Feb.27th. City council approved it in June. I don't know why it's taking so long to get it going but hopefully they realized how lame it would look and are going to make changes.

And that protruding box on the Georgia side is supposed to have the outside edge lighting up but I haven't seen it lit up for a while. The protruding box on the other side of the office tower (facing the condo tower) has it's edge lit up every night now. I see it from my apartment.

Thanks. I didn't see that today but will look for it.

By the time they get all the lighting up and running I'll bet they'll have some staff working full time just to maintain and program it all.

I've been in contact with the marketing guys from Magnum Properties (they don't seem to have a lot of developers, but they're the front line people as we can't talk to the developers directly), and it appears the move-in date for the residential side has been pushed to "early 2016 to end of March"

That's strange, as there was a guy on Craigslist advertising his suite being move-in ready already this summer.
