Good point. Its not that much taller and although the renderings of it look decent, I don't think it will look as nice as Brookfield. Too bad Brookfield couldn't have been just one tower instead of two. Calgary already has way too many twin towers IMO. More than any other city in Canada I bet.

That is due to the nature of our economy. I feel like Brookfield West will be put on hold and hoping for a redesign of it.

So could Brookfield just quietly (with the city's blessing) add 1 or 2 floors without needing significant engineering work?
Would love to see that!

I'd love it to add 4, not necessarily for the sake of beating Stantec, just becoming the first building in Calgary to officially reach 60 storeys. Telus Sky does have 60 floors, but only 1/3 of the top floor is enclosed so it's not technically counted as a whole level.

And the top of ours is way higher.

Stantec is officially 57 floors

Disagree. This tower with that glass would look so much better without the curved corners. I'm picturing corners vaguely resembling parts of 240 Blackfriars.

Manulife does very well with it curved, indented ends.

I'd advocate for 4-8 more floors for Brookfield! I also think Stantec will be a good looking building.... Brookfield is office and Stantec is Mixed-use! One only can guess when Oxford will ever get built.... Probably at least 5-6 years, best guess!

I wouldn't mind seeing another 4-6 floors to this building.... not to make it taller than Stantec....but because of the "60" story threshold! And this is a pretty massive building (not as massive as the Bow though), might make it look a little more "Sleek"... IMO!

Wow, if it's looking like this at 160m, it's going to appear remarkably tall at 247m. Granted it's not exactly a slender tower, but compared to the Bow...
