There are rumblings that Jamestown is looking to redevelop Murder Kroger into something more urban.

That looks pretty nice. ~14 floors, a pretty good transitional use from a futuristic glass monolith to a historic neighborhood. That would appear to be the northwest elevation. Hopefully this is just the first project spreading new investment away from the COP area of downtown.

The glass will fit right in with that new stadium. I wonder how much longer until developers try to overtake the eastern boundaries of English Ave. and Vine City ?

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/blog/...nris-bakery-could-be-sold-relocated.html

Alliance Residential Co. of the Broadstone brand of Apartments which has been popping up all over town is in talks to acquire property in the area of Buckhead Village where a lot of the fratty dive bars are at. This may be the start of the redevelopment of that whole area. It does have a decent grid of streets there.

Quote:
If the deal goes through, Alliance intends to relocate Henri’s to the ground floor of the development when it’s complete. During construction, Henri’s would operate from a temporary location nearby.

Wow, this and the potential JLB development across the street would really change the face of these few blocks.

NCR World Headquarters Campus
Fact Sheet
Project Background
NCR will build and relocate to a new state-of-the-art headquarters located in the heart of Midtown’s Tech Square. The +/- 485,000 RSF modern building will reflect NCR’s position as a worldwide technology leader.
The new headquarters will provide the workplace of the future that establishes and promotes creativity, innovation and collaboration. The use of modern architecture and the top technologies will reflect NCR’s brand as an industry leader. A world-class campus will be delivered with flexibility for future growth and changing workplace and lab dynamics.
Design Development
NCR has procured world-class design firms HKS, Duda Paine and Gensler to lead the design development of the project. Design development will take place over the next few months and focus on the final visions for the campus.
The developer is finalizing the core and shell and will arrive at a final aesthetic and layout that promotes the project goals and aligns with NCR culture.
Sustainability
NCR is committed to building a sustainable, healthy, environmentally-friendly campus where its employees can thrive and connect with the Atlanta community. The project will be a top performer in energy, water, and waste stream efficiency, and is targeting to achieve a high level of LEED® Certification.
For example, the building is being designed to save a minimum of 1.3 million gallons of water annually compared to an average commercial office building of the same size. This savings is equivalent to the annual water usage of more than 3,000

This rendering looks significantly better than previous ones. More interesting detail on the glass work.

This area deserves an award for biggest transformation! Wow! Would have been cool if it had been a little taller so it could stand out a bit more but for the most part, I'm happy with how this looks.

Retail facing the street? It doesn't look like it in the rendering. If not it looks to be well lit so that's a good thing. Even if there is not retail I like the lobby of whatever to be nice and open. decorated nice and well lit so it doesn't feel so dead and boring when walking by if you know what I mean.

I believe they're wrapping the parking deck with office space along Spring Street and 8th streets along with a portion of Williams Street along with the lobby potentially on the corner of Williams/8th.

Peachtree/Terrace Development - Buckhead
  • 19 stories and 225 feet in height
  • 251 apartment units
  • 15K of retail and 15K of restaurant space
The property involved is 1.866 acres at the corner of Peachtree and Terrace. Branch has owned the adjacent Peachtree Battle Shopping Center since 1982. The property which is the subject of this application is currently occupied by a Burger King, Design Within Reach and the antique store. The Burger King and antique store are zoned C-3, unconditional, as is the balance of the Peachtree Battle Center. The Design Within Reach property was zoned C-1 with conditions to permit the Loop Pizza restaurant several years ago.

The application proposes to zone the property C-3 conditioned on a site plan and other conditions for a residential building of 18 stories above one level of retail, with parking accommodated in a deck under and to the rear of the building. In terms of vehicular access, the building will use the existing drive from the upper Publix parking deck onto Terrace and also have access through the Center to the Peachtree/Peachtree Battle traffic signal, as well as other driveways from the shopping center to Peachtree. There will be an additional access point on Peachtree which will not be signalized.

There will be 251 apartment units, which will be designed for and marketed to people under the age of 35. In addition to the residential use, the application proposes 15,000 square feet of retail and 15,000 square feet of restaurant space in the first level of the building fronting Peachtree. It is anticipated that the retail would be complementary to that which presently exists in the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center and that the restaurant would be a white tablecloth restaurant primarily aimed at lunch and dinner business, consistent with similar locations along this area of Peachtree.

In terms of height, this building is proposed to be a total of 19 stories and 225 feet in height. As a matter of comparison, the two Plaza Tower buildings just to the north are 22 stories and 265 feet, the building at Peachtree and Lindbergh is 18 stories and 231 feet, the Bennington is 18 stories and 231 feet and the Peachtree Residences across from Plaza Towers are 19 stories and 244 feet in height.

Wow. The NCR campus looks sooooo much better than the model they released. It will have a beautiful impact on the skyline traveling along 75/85.
