Funny you use that phrase...

This website has pic of the demolition of One Meridien. Strange to see a crane erected to dismantle a building!

Even stranger to see heavy equipment on the roof of a highrise.

I wonder if Mr. Lenfest has nightmares about watching the meter tick away on an endless cab ride.

The added density this tower will have shall truly be appreciated.
I wonder if this tower will be visible on the skyline when viewed from the Parkway.

The only view I could think of is at the top of the Art Museum steps (go Rocky!)
And probably just certain spots. You may have to inch over left or right.
The top will only be visible, as Ritz Carlton Residences are directly in front from that view.

Remember it'll be a fair bit taller than the Ritz. So it'll just backdrop it.

I learned that the hard way with 3601 Market -- I didn't think it'd be as imposing from the east as it eventually wound up being.

Having a close view of that steeple next door would be quite spectacular from the rooms I would think.

Cheers,
G.

Nothing has changed in a year...We really don't need updates yet.

True. They have been digging for like 6 months and they are barely below grade.

Walked by the site today. They are significantly below grade now. The top of the excavator arms were the only thing visible in the hole from street level. Seems to finally be some noticeable progress.

Picture from today. Doesn't do it justice, but the east side of the site is about as deep as an excavator.

Just on the other side of that blank wall/dome roof building.
