Has anyone been up Centre Street recently? How are the several low-mid rise projects progressing along there?

Took a long drive for the first time in awhile yest, still so much smaller infill projects (duplex, townhomes), particularly in the communities sw of the Beltline, but also branching out further and further from every direction of the core. Looking good. Top 5 in infill activity in NA no doubt, people are still buying.

I'm still kind of amazed that after years of false starts something is finally being built on that hill in Bridgeland.

They're both almost ready to start cladding the exterior and putting in windows. Coming along nicely.

That, and the Centre Street 20th ave one is moving quickly. They have a good size pit going now.

Centre street is so close to turning that corner. It just needs a 2 or 3 block stretch north of 16th (maybe somewhere around Lina's) with 2 or 3 of those kind of developments on both sides, some nice side-walk treatment and lamps etc... and you'll have a nice little corridor.

Once those 3 Centre street condos are done let's build 6 more on Centre.
Just looking at large (ie 1/4 a narrow block or bigger) vacant lots there's 4 blocks worth on Centre, and if you include dilapidated houses and paved parking lots you're probably at 8 blocks worth.

So I guess by 6 more I mean 16 more.

Centre street has so much potential. I feel like there is some momentum starting up there with these three projects. Next cycle, we should see even more development.

StreetSide's Killarney Townes project appears to be stalled. No construction activity for a couple of months now. The first building was very close to being finished and the other three buildings are built to grade.

AFAIK that project is turning out to be a flop... the recently completed units are still listed on MLS (1,2,3,4). They've been listed for nearly 3 months and have seen a significant price drop.

I'm not sure what percentage of the overall project is sold.

Can someone tell me about that DensGlass material? is it just a high-tech replacement for essentially tar paper? Or is it also insulation? Wouldn't those seams need to be taped or something to create a waterproof barrier?

EDIT: from googling it seems like it's basically a fire and waterproof drywall material.

Not sure I'd want to pay what they're asking for a wood build who's main walkable amenities are a pretty bleak part of McLeod but at least it isn't going to look like that Torode Inglewood project.

It's not too far from Mission. About 1km walk to 4th street, which isn't bad (but not great either).

Besides Mission 34 that area's starting to see a bunch of smaller infills too. I'm sure there will be enough demand to support a neighborhood commercial strip there in the future. We need more of this.

They should have called Centre Green 'Neopolitan' instead. It looks like cheap neopolitan ice cream. Surprisingly, it looks better than rendered. None of these colours is anywhere near as bad as the piss yellow depicted in the renders.
