westfield is know for having a lot of popular stores and more high level stores

its kind of like if you are a tourist and you see kingsgate mall vancouver you may get there and be disappointed, where as CF pacific centre you wouldn't be
Lol ok thx. Officedweller said it was local. Makes sense now why I never heard of it

Sorry, "Local" meaning Pacific Northwest, since they have a presence in Seattle (Southcenter is plastered with Westfield signs).
I've also seen them in California.

We don't really call it Westfield Southcenter here, but if you're traveling and see a Westfield sign, you have an understanding of what is involved.

Our 'best' mall is Bellevue Square, and it isn't part of any larger conglomerate.

Bellevue Square is pretty nice. That whole area around the mall is, in fact.

Pic by me today.
Could it be a platform for additional HVAC equipment?
(ie. if they screwed up and on the initial requirements or Microsoft needs a lot more A/C to cool servers, etc.?)

Thanks.

Too bad they didn't leave space in the mechanical penthouse for extra units (I wonder what else is in there?).

I must be the last one to visit the new Nordstrom, but I have now done it. I visited during lunch time and there was alot of people in there. Lots of staff as well, although they are not so easy to identify as they don't seem to have any formal dress code.

The three floors are nice, but the underground mall seems quite remote from the department store, considering that it runs directly below it. It would have been great if the main escalators would take you down to the mall level, as now people not using the Robson/Granville entrance may altogether miss the whole thing.

Interiors wise it seemed on par with the modern department stores in Germany, so very nice.

I still haven't gone, for the same reason as always, going downtown is awful and miserable and parking is ridiculous.

Though haven't gone to Simons yet either though. Waiting this long a few years ago would have been unthinkable, but my wife is on a Nike/Under Armor binge now - fancy clothes are out. #fitspo

Was in the other week playing the try and find the most expensive item. Well I won, on my first try. Anyone else see the 27,000 dollar hand bag? Apparently it's the most expensive item in the store, according t the sales person. Lmao

I work upstairs in TD Tower and it took me 3 weeks to go into Nordstrom.

****

The crane lift for the HVAC equipment will occur tomorrow night.

Memo sent around the office:

Quote:
DATE: November 4, 2015

ATTENTION: Pacific Centre - All Office Tenants

WHAT: Crane Lift on Howe Street

WHEN: Thursday, November 5 at 10.00 p.m to Friday, November 6, 2015 at 6.00 a.m.

WHY: Please be advised that Kindred Construction will be lifting building materials from Howe Street to the roof of 725 Granville as part of the ongoing redevelopment project.

IMPACT: Kindred Construction will use a crane lift located on Howe Street, to lift building materials along the west side of the building. They will also set-up a staging area on Howe Street to help facilitate this work, with lane closures in effect for the duration of the work.

Access into the EasyPark parkade from Howe Street will still be available with traffic management in place. Egress from the parkade on Howe Street will be intermittently affected when the crane is in use. Traffic control personnel will be on site to direct parkers.

It would be nice if Microsoft invested in being more green and covered the rooftop in solar panels to offset some of the power requirements for this HVAC units.

Yeah. There is no better place than this for sun panels. A huge area and it's all open to the south.
