Yeah, I am a fan. I have to see this building from all angles at different lights and it does not disappoint from any perspective.

Maybe Ive spent too much time in cities with bland buildings and maybe my bar is too low, but I like this one.

Look at it from the front when your looking from the west side for instance. It looks like a square. But if your on top of it looking down then it doesn't lol

it looks like a box to me--thats my opinion---I dont like it--is it not ok to have an opinion on the page?--my goodness people. Ill bet a lot of other folks in town would agree with me.

It's a broad building. I think it will get better as they add more glazing and floors, and the angled profile and gradated window patterning become more apparent.

I think it looks great. Not every building has to be slender.

To be fair, I like the design, I just don't like the brown color of the building. I'm really hoping once more windows fill in at the top it'll change my opinion on it.

It looks to me like it's in the transition zone to more glass now. They're finishing up attaching the 13th floor exterior. Based on the renderings, above the 13th floor looks a lot glassier, so it should start looking less heavy as the cladding on the next floors makes its appearance. I still think it's going to turn out nice once it's done, but I definitely see where people are coming from when they rag on it in its current state.

I think there are a few things that make it less successful than I expected from the rendering:

The quality of the paneling seems questionable to me. Seams are more apparent. I would have expected a "smoother" look, similar to what block 75 has.
Unless I'm counting wrong, it looks to me like there are fewer windows than the render. If you compare the same floors from rendering to photo, there is definitely less glass and more paneling on the actual building.
Related to (2) - there are thick vertical "strips" in the actual building that have no windows that are far less pronounced on the render.

I always wonder about that with some of the new members that pop up from time to time. I am thankful we don't get a flood of members like that or city-data. Being an architecture forum probably helps with that.

For as long as I have been on this site, we have mostly had a pretty great group of people posting on it.

If you walk right up to the building it's pretty obvious that it isn't brown. It's matte black. Your eyes are deceiving you. This building is like that dress meme .
