Seylynn Village is nice and big, designed for people that aren't too comfortable with tiny condo living. And it's so cheap compared to Wall Centre you could buy four cars and have money left over for earplugs.

The only problem with North Shore are bridges and the weather.

Oh come on - it's not like you'd be moving to the other side of the planet. Metrotown to Granville Station is only a 15 min train ride. What do you absolutely have to be downtown for that you couldn't do around Metrotown instead. Plus it's actually warmer to walk around than downtown too due to there not being a cool breeze right off the ocean.

I must agree about the floor plan. That was the main thing that sold me on Modello. I looked around many existing condos and pre-sales and none of them really caught my eye. Then the kitchen and seemingly good craftsmanship (judging from the display home) sold me on it. But I guess the craftsmanship I will have to see when the place is actually done!

The project is great if you are buying to live in. Otherwise it's too expensive to buy as a rental investment. Most likely this type of design won't work in downtown as developers want to maximize profits by building small and cheap.

Seylynn village have triple glazed windows so that would definitely help. If your unit is not facing the highway then it shouldn't be all that bad. The noise level can't be as bad as living right beside the skytrain like some of the buildings in Metrotown or Brentwood.

That must be the most well-built first floor of all time. Construction crew is really showing some serious love for that floor. 3 Civic Plaza is rapid compared to this.

Look at all the skinny concrete columns...
Most developers would apply precast to get a similar exterior appearance.
(Let's see how The Spot on Cambie achieves something similar)
This will definitely prevent a recladding.

I was looking from the skytrain but I think 6? The large concrete podium section is up.
