Sigh, sometimes I wish I didn't have a sharp eye for things that are crooked, out of line and/or uncentred, never mind that they are also ugly and clash with everything around it. I suppose there is some sort of regulation that requires the electrical boxes to be green.

And what the heck is going on now with the sidewalk on Georgia?

I know exactly what you mean. I see things sometimes and its like I dont even want to be noticing them but I cant help it. The main street skyrtain station was the last time I had this thought. (quite a number of months ago.) Like If you look at it closely (the work they have done) everything is out of wack. all the grey panels on the exterior are out of line by quarter inch here half inch there..all the fins on the outside same thing. like not a single line meets up anywhere. I dont know if I just look at things with an overly critical eye sometimes, but I thought the quality of work was horrible. I mean from far away it looks fine or driving by in a car it looks fine, but on foot right beside it its almost unbelievable how bad it is. In my opinion.

Maybe you can even see what I'm talking about a little bit in this photo you took. If you look at the grey panels below the exterior glass and fins. In person if you look closely you realize everything is out of wack.

Yes, sometimes it would probably be better to see a project with fresh eyes and only when it is 100% done. But when you walk by it while it's under construction and if you're curious sometimes you can't help but see these things.

I remember seeing the crooked panels on the Main Street - Science World station earlier this year but I think they're a little less noticeable now that the station is all done.

That crooked green electrical box at the Telus office tower is never going to be less noticeable, though. At least if there's an emergency and they have to access it quick it'll be easy to find.

Speaking of Main Street station, since they installed two LED street lights under the station platform to light Main, only one has ever worked. Every time I cross at night I always look up to see if they've fixed it. However its been more than a year and I have a feeling I'll be checking until Im six feet under. Ugh.

The pane of glass with the angled bottom edge is just as bad - it looks really out of place.

WRT the sidewalk - maybe they are running wires to light up the trees - does each tree have a sidewalk cut in front of it?

I've been trying not to look at that pane of glass with angled bottom for a long time.

WRT the sidewalk. They actually took out the sections of cement by each of the trees. I had stepped on the plywood and it sagged a bit and then today I saw them remaking the sidewalk. I couldn't really tell if there were any electrical lines installed.

I noticed the exact same thing and I was driving in my car. None of the panels line up. Where is the quality control??

Take a walk around downtown Salt Lake City. The quality and time put into the street level aesthetics are impeccable.

WRT the sidewalk cuts - it's probably for wiring to the trees.
They've done the trees on West Georgia near Seymour now, and I checked the tree wells on Seymour and they do have electrical outlets at the base of each tree.

I had an opportunity to tour some of the spaces on the office side of Telus Garden this week. Overall, a fantastic building, nice finishes. A ton of glass (as we can see from the outside of course).

I was in the infamous box over Seymour.. pretty cool view up and down the street that you couldn't otherwise get. That whole floor is their innovation/meeting room floor by the looks of it. Quite a bit of space that isn't fully utilized (yet).

Yes, I was intrigued to see what was underneath the scaffolding and tarps for so long. Maybe the outer facing surface will light up?

Here's a zoomed in shot of the ledges/frames on the side facing the office tower. I hope those are lighting panels being worked on.

And the sidewalk on Georgia with the newly installed aggregate strips leading to the trees. It occurred to me today that they would also serve as a deterrent to skateboarders.

Maybe another skateboarder deterrent are the studs that have now been installed on the sidewalk at the corner of Georgia/Richards.
