Hopefully Quebec will be widened.

My comments from the retail thread:

Now only if they'd have built some with sizable square footage!!

Not that keen on the design - but ultimately, it's a big box, so the clerestory windows add a green feature bringing in daylight.

I could see some sports stores creep up Main St. instead of into Olympic Village.

Now.... will there be any parking?

You can see the Shell station at the very back of the rendering, so it's going to remain (for now).

Here's a render of the next two Concert buildings: http://changingcitybook.com/2015/10/09/49-east-1st-avenue/

And here's the development application: http://former.vancouver.ca/devapps/49e1st/index.htm

Thanks for the update. I read that Voda sold out recently so it's only natural to keep on going.

Do we have any details about the non-market building?

From a link in the story you responded to above:

Here’s the second building proposed as part of the Concert Properties development in south East False Creek known as The Creek.

It will be on the corner of Quebec and 1st Avenue, and this is the 15-storey non-market building that will be owned by the City of Vancouver, once Concert have built it.

The project includes not one, but two childcare centres at grade, and it’s designed by DYS Architecture; (Rafii Architects designed the first building in the new complex, and the masterplan for the site). It has black brick detailing, rather than painted concrete. Here’s a picture of the model already reviewed by the Urban Design Panel.

Thanks, I saw that. I guess I should have been more specific. What programs can we expect to see in this building, and what type of residents?

"non-market" or "social" housing runs the gamut from the Co-op housing within the OV to the mess of Marguerite Ford nearby on West 2nd.

With 2 childcare centres in the building, I can't imagine anything remotely high-risk will be going in, but just curious.

It looks like the rendering already shows the widening of Quebec. The crosswalk from the maple leaf storage corner does not align with the widening of Quebec street. Looks like they may need to move the crosswalk to the east.

In 10 years would it be safe to call this an extension of downtown?

Ha! The crosswalk just leads to the middle of the street!

The community development documents as part of the Concert application show the MEC location as a potential 14 story tower. Won't somebody think of the max allowable height?!

Yes I am super surprised they are not planning to have some sort of residential building above the MEC location. I wonder what changed their minds to go from a high rise to a 3 story commercial building.

Any update on move-in dates the The One?

Proximity is advertising "Spring 2016".

Block 100 is "March to June 2016".

It's almost done. They're already cleaning up. I estimate around January to February.

The final tower is being marketed for Executive Group's project on 2nd Avenue. It's called Epic at WEST.

Oh I thought this was part of the phase that they are building. I wonder why they demolished their sales centre. They could've kept it while they built the middle tower

They may be starting construction when they start sales, just move the sales centre into one of the empty retail units.
