Nice to see edmo finally starting to move away from the stubby stucco box.

Are these proposals all rentals, as the edm central new condo market has gone from weak (historically cgy 3 to 4 times higher sales than edm) to nearly non-existent in 2015 (a decelerated cgy market still somehow 5 to 10 times more new central condo sales than edm).

^there is literally nothing to buy... we have considerable pent up demand for well priced condos, ie. not Jasper House.

The residential portion of both arena towers u/c are rentals too? If not, why haven't they launched. They've had a few yrs already, and this is supposed to be the best real estate in edm.

Stantec will be rental, Hotel residences going for sale very soon with huge interest it seems.

I'm sure units have been offered to their investors but, there really isn't any reason to have a public launch with 3 years to go until delivery.

Edmonton will be in the big leagues when that tower goes up... Even these half ass renderings are scaring me!! lol!

All it takes is one Monster and then every piece of land in the core will get bought up and developed to match. That's what happened in Toronto, when TD Centre went up, it dwarfed every tower in the downtown core by 150 meters when it was built. Didn't even look right, but eventually all the other banks were like we gotta get in the game and bought all the land or (repurposed/redeveloped land they already owned) and we got monster towers all around.

Toronto's Stantec back in the day (wasn't as tall as Stantec, but you get the picture)
