As I've posted in the past when the lack of visible activity has caused posters to assume this is dead, an architect neighbor of mine has been working for months on the design of a hotel lobby for the project, so it is still in the design phase. That doesn't mean another recession won't intervene, but at least for now it's still progressing.

Atlantic House is really starting to book it. They are on the 11th floor now if you include the maintenance floor. It might catch up to Alta Midtown which seems to be rising at a much slower pace.

I noticed that, it's really going up fast... and then there's Peachtree and 5th which seems to be going about the pace of a retired guy tinkering with a project in his backyard. I'm honestly not sure if they'll finish pouring the few remaining floors this year.

That's because Atlantic House is a glorified Skyhouse with some art-deco/gothic post modern details applied rather than the exposed concrete formwork holes typical of the previous Skyhouses.

Discuss.

The average price per SF for in-town residential units is between $150 and $200 - and about the most expensive single unit I can find is the penthouse at the Mansion on Peachtree, which is listed around $1,000/SF.

The average price per SF across New York City is about 10 times that, just under $1,500. These supertall luxury buildings are at $6,000/SF or higher, up to the ridiculous $10,000/SF for a few.

So....there is a long way to go before anything like that makes any sort of sense. Plus, there is no specific hyper-valuable view that would drive buildings upwards like it does around Central Park. Nor is real estate in Atlanta a safe-haven for international money with no other places to go.

Is this the Related Group project at 98 14th? Arquitectonica is their choice in Miami so it might be the same.
Related Group of Florida isn't a "flip flopper" so they buy to build but realize the markets are different from the ATL to Florida and it might take some time.

98-14th is not associated with The Related Group which is developer of the nearby 22-14th St. 98-14th is a New York set of developers.

Whoever brought up the New York supertalls went to the far far extreme. That's not likely to happen in our lifetime. But what can happen is 30-50 story buildings the break the half a block wide, 20-story model that we are primarily seeing right now. Eviva, Peachtree & 3rd are a couple of examples that break this mold. Plus there are several residential towers already in existence in Buckhead that are more square than wide.

The NCR lot is gated and locked, has been since last Thursday.

There are a few electrical guys on site at the GT HPCC site. I know Taste of Atlanta used that lot for their staging area, maybe they are going to start site work/demo on this soon?

There was no hate in that particular comment, but the person in question has a long history across the internet of Atlanta hate. He trolls Atlanta discussions and seems to be obsessed with our city. He is just trying to stir something up, so it's best to just ignore him.

He uses the same name and does the same thing in every forum. City-data just lets him get away with more of it than the others - one the main reasons I have little to do with that site.

First Dancing Goats on West Peachtree, now Octane at Peachtree & 15th. Great news for Midtown.

Looks like Related Group filed permits today for their apartment project at the intersection of Peachtree Road/Stratford in Buckhead.

The permit - https://aca.accela.com/atlanta_ga/Cap/Ca...gencyCode=ATLANTA_GA&IsToShowInspection=

Other than that, nothing else interesting so far.
