Craziest Engineering Feat Currently Under Construction in Your City

I was just pondering how great it is to see something like 150 N Riverside in Chicago under construction in person. That made me wonder what nutty engineering solutions are being built in other cities that I'm totally missing out on. I assume there are tons of awesome feats of engineering going up all over the United States and World that I have no knowledge of.

So the question is: what is the craziest engineering project going up in your city right now? Could be something tall and thin, or cleverly wedged into a small spot, could be something huge and wide or simply massive, could be something extremely efficient, so what is it?

They are just starting demo/prep work here in L.A. on the replacement for the 6th St. Viaduct

See, this is exactly what I'm talking about. I lived right by the 6th street viaduct (Biscuit Company Lofts) for a year and had no idea they were doing this. That's a sick design.

The MacDonald bridge in Halifax, Canada is in the beginning phases of a full redecking project. It is only the second time in the world that a suspension bridge has undergone this type of refit. The other being the Lionsgate in Vancouver. Most work will happen overnight over a period of 18 months. All of the support structure goes form being along side the road deck to underneath it and will actually lift the bridge up a few meters to allow for larger ships to travel underneath.

^Isn't that the exact same bridge from Final Destination 5 that was being resurfaced and then collapsed?

edit: also wow that 6th st. viaduct is...jawdropping. Good for LA, that's a cool city, they deserve cool stuff.

I can't remember if I saw that movie or not, but I highly doubt it was this bridge. I can't see them coming to Halifax, Canada in that movie.
