I'm really sick of being dragged through the mud by the condo developer. We've been told since July that things would get moving and they continue to push the date, provide "updates," etc. We were very nicely informed last week that our suite was a skip suite and therefore our walkthrough on the 7th floor will be delayed until the week of October 13th.
I had spoken to them on the phone numerous times and this was never mentioned.
The City Inspection which was due to take place this past Monday the 21st was not completed and I've been told it will "hopefully" be done by Friday. They can not issue move-in dates until the inspection is passed.
Does it mean even the lower floor (1-4) will not be able to move in next week?
I share your frustration equally regarding all these delays and the fact that they are not honest regarding move-in dates. I was quite sure the majority of us would not move in until November, which as I indicated earlier is a horrible time to move "in the snow"!
But I share another concern regarding the quality of the interiors. Hopefully, the company's delays and unprofessional behavior is not a reflection on quality control of the interior construction. I think we should all be extremely diligent on the walk-throughs and inspections and please report any findings on this forum so we can all be aware of anything to look out for. After all, we will all be future neighbors!
Here is the latest from this week. Truth or fiction I have been told that move-ins for 1-4 will start next Wednesday the 30th and 5-8 in 2 weeks. So do the math when you think you might get into your suite if you are on a higher level.
As you can see here, this South end main level suite is clearly not done and I'm guessing this one may be one of the last to move in as the portable toilets are all now located in this corner of the site.
The building's new sign was prepped and installed early in the week. It's never very hard to see which guys are site Supervisors/Managers. They are always the guys with their hands in their pockets.
This is becoming a more and more of common sight seeing workers standing around admiring the view.
The outer parkade door was installed early in the week.
From this morning the guys are steam cleaning the balconies on the South face of the building.
The East side main level patio railings started to get installed late in the week. All of the portable toilets were also moved to the south end and the outer fencing removed.
The corner for the tree was prepped early in the week.
And here it is. From this morning here is Luttmer and Mike 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 admiring the lump of steel that sort of resembles a tree. Here again it is easy to pick out who is a site Supervisor/Manager as they always have their hands in their pockets.
Again, no word from LPDI (Lake Placid Developments) and from Richard Lobsinger and his team. At this rate, I will be homeless Oct 1st, 2015 due to the the Park's poor project management and miscommunication. I was supposed to move in last November 2014. What the HELL is going on???

I heard this as well, quite exciting! I have not received my possession date yet, but I am sure it will be sometime mid-October (should get my date by this Friday) as my walkthrough is next Tuesday. Can't wait.

Just a heads up; From what I am hearing from TELUS, LPDI elected NOT have fibre optic infrastructure roughed into the building. This means were limited to archaic copper wiring for internet and TV, resulting in max 25kbps internet which is fairly slow by today's standards.
After all my negativity, we got our occupancy date for floor 7 on Oct 22nd (walk through Oct 16th) yesterday! I believe most other units on the 7th floor will be moved in before the 22nd since our unit was a skip suite and behind in construction. We still have a 5 day gap between a new owner taking possession of our current rental and us moving into the Park but that's more than manageable.
So, so happy to finally have this coming together. It's been a long wait everyone! Cheers.

What is a skip suite? Sorry for being so ignorant.
the "skip" is the construction elevator that was tied into the structure. Typically, the skip has to be fastened back to the concrete slab in multiple locations in a tower application, therefore suites are delayed. Basically, all the southwest corner suites are delayed because of this. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much!! It's a relief for a lot of us to finally have an idea of when we'll be in our new homes I'm sure.

Really ? The representative I was talking to was convinced there was no optic, said he was working all morning getting to the bottom of it. Interesting though, maybe I'll call shaw too see what they say.
Lo and behold. I think there is actually someone moved into The Park. I do not have a photo that is visible, but I can confirm that I have physically seen a TV on and being watched by someone in a chair on the South East corner of the 6th floor.
Hope to god it is not the Security Guard with nothing else to do watching Netflix on his break.
