I don't get this - at all. Isn't the building full of doctors and dentists?

Is this part of a plan to remove all non-government businesses from downtown? There is so much vacant space downtown, why displace small businesses?

Here's a novel idea, how about letting grocery stores sell wine, beer and liquor like everywhere else in the world and cut the MLCC staff by about 80% and eliminate the need for another unnecessary government building!

Pretty sad that former east-bloc European countries now have more open markets and more free enterprise than we do here!

I never thought a building would make me miss a parking lot, but not only does it create a traffic lane across the sidewalk, it destroys the clean modernist lines of the Medical Arts Building. I guess I can be thankful it isn't a stucco wall.

Guess the point is moot, the whole thing will be kiboshed after the election. We can hope the LC is kiboshed at the same time.

We can only hope, trouble is too many Manitoban's feel entitled to their entitlements that this regime provides. The new headquarters is (was hopefully) going to even provide on site (subsidized) day care just like in the good old Soviet era eastern European heydays. Remember everyone was equal in communist societies just some more equal than others, that mantra is alive and well in the Socialist Republic of Manitoba...

That's what I thought too. Apparently the building is only about 50% leased. all or most tenants will remain.

mehh I think it looks appealing... I like the glass and the enterance area court yard it looks wayyyy better than the crap that is there now...

don't like their choice of location but I don't mind the design..... its not really that big of a surface lot...
