It was on the walk because it went up Fort, but it does look great and I guess maybe it is permanent then! If only the Richardson lights went up the whole way. They looks cheap and dinky right now.

This is a permanent light fixture. The city of winnipeg released a story last year how they want to see unique LED lighting used more in the downtown. LED lighting is so easy, cheap to run, and diverse.

^Nice! I really liked the blue LED stripe on the MTS building too. It's quite bold and stands out from a distance.

Wow, that looks great! Hopefully it is indeed permanent.

Just the type of thing downtown Winnipeg needs a bit more of!

hopefully something else happens to make those red awnings look less awful. Also the cladding removal on Trizec/360 Main is going at a snail's pace, I never see more than 2 guys working... It's like they forget winter is coming. Has anyone seen the plans for the reno? Any changes to the entrances?

Also Gio's is being renovated and the lease/sale signs are down, anyone heard what's happening? They're moving pretty quickly.

I really don't think it will be much of a surprise. We all pretty much knew how this would turn out.

Obviously the smiley face insinuates it's going into one of the many existing and wholly appropriate vacancies already burdening downtown

I also like that project. Will be quite the sight when it completed. Is the roof going to be slanted up towards the elevator shaft? I assume it would be since its timber framed. Typical sloped roof truss instead of a flat roof. Will really it make it look like a flying saucer!

Just to clarify for everyone, the work currently being done is only for the base atrium bank area - not the tower. The plan is still in the works for a tower re-clad but not this work.

I thought Gio's was going to be demolished? Has something changed?
