Anyone watching the Packers-Bears game today notice the Ford commercial that was filmed here? A nice change beyond the usual Vancouver or Los Angeles.

Didn't see the commercial but that's cool. I always look closely at ads that have cities in them to see if I can identify, and it's usually LA. Nice to hear that one is filmed in Philly.

This is interesting- it's good and bad. The good aspect is that it appears there are only a few suburban nodes that offer comparable assets vs CC. The bad part is that the developers who own office properties there are looking to recreate the CC atmosphere in a lower tax environment to siphon jobs from CC. That said, the job growth being touted is relatively modest in Delco and Newtown Square is never going to be a truly viable alternative to CC. Maybe Conshohocken- but not Newtown Square.

With regards to Cira 2, assuming this is built (have no reason to believe otherwise), what's next? Cira 2 would seemingly complete the Cira complex as originally planned. Does Brandywine own anything else in the immediate vicinity or is this is the final angled glass beauty for the west bank of the Schyukill? Will Brandywine move its focus to its holdings in CC? I personally would love to see one more around 30th and Market to bridge the two northern towers with the two southern ones.

One thing to keep in mind, unlike the CC properties that Brandywine owns, the Cira complex is entirely in a KOZ zone.

right, I think their plan is to fully develop the KOZ zone while pushing through the tax change in Harrisburg. In 2-4 years when the law is changed, they can start to build on west market.

I used one of Pelli's similar towers from Madrid because none of the existing Cira 2 images were at an appropriate angle. Height is based of the Verizon's 739' so it's approximate, but should be pretty close.

And I threw in CITC so we'd have a better idea of the future postcard angle I'm sure we'll be seeing on calendars and wikipedia in a few years.

Great rendering, but like Cira South, it sounds like this is to be elevated about 40' because of the street level in this area, so the effective height will be closer to 765' in relation to Center City.

Great stuff! Yes, please Lord! From the looks of it, it definitely will only cover the tracks and not impact the adjoining parking lot (and therefore not reach the High Line). I'd love to see something fill that gap (not to mention for Drexel to do something with that concrete plaza eyesore (now used for parking) in front of the old Bulletin Building.

Agree. Nutter and Alan Greenberger have done wonders for development and bringing national and international attention to Philly.

I have been longing for this since I moved back to Philly at the end of 2011. Such an eyesore. And impediment to development of the Avenue of the Arts.

With shovels supposedly about to turn on SLS (keeping fingers crossed), and this coming along after that -- not to mention the completion of many renovations -- it will pretty much complete the decades-long transformation from City Hall all the way down to Pine. Good stuff.

Symphony House and it's theatre take care of things on the west side down to Lombard. That leaves only one block on the west side and two on east to carry the transformation all the way to the traditional CC boundary at South. With the northerly gaps in the Ave. of the Arts vibe filled, I'm sure it won't be too long thereafter that we see proposals the remaining blocks (if at least some of the current momentum holds). Hoping not to go to my eternal reward before it continues from South all the way to Washington, which doesn't sound like a pipe dream these days.
