Wow! Love those office buildings! And the 3 slanted roof condos in the forefront are nice too. The Tours des Canadiens are forgettable if slightly better than what we saw proposed before.

Why is this render showing 3 120m Tour des canadiens phase 2 when it's now supposed to be 2 170m towers ?

This is becoming a bit of a joke, they're coming up with new plans for the area every 4 months, but I must admit I like the new 170m TDC2 (much better than TDC1)

Ok makes sense.

If the QUAD and TDC 2 + 3 see the light of day in full, the city's downtown footprint will be huge.

I like the individual buildings, and would gladly accept a few of them in that spot, but I can't say I care for the development as a whole.

The buildings all look a bit too similar. I would rather they be spaced out a bit more and interspersed with some non-blue glass buildings. At the moment it's too much of the same style in that location (on top of that, some of the towers seem to have a fairly large footprint).

There are getting to be too many twins and triplets going up in Montreal. It risks making the skyline look kind of bland.

I'm also not convinced by that strange angled park the city wants to put there.

Yes, agreed 100%. The sameness and repetition is totally at odds with the eclectic nature of the rest of the skyline and the variety of designs it currently has is probably its biggest appeal.

Yeah, a few with a very different design ethic would be nice. That or moving them about, but that's far less practical.

Fantastic tower but the mini-me is distracting.

Perfect summary of my feelings as well.

I guess (hope) it doesn't all get built out at once and as time moves along the styles/size/design of the individual towers change to provide some variety as opposed to the monotony pictured.

I will be visiting Montreal for the first time in about 7 years at the end of October. It'll be interesting to see some of the changes.

A couple of proposals for London.

^195 Dundas Street. Three towers total: 35, 32 & 19 stories.

^505 Talbot Street. 30 stories. This one just was approved by council and allows the developer to level 3 heritage buildings (which to be honest were of little value as far as significance goes)

There are about 9 towers in total proposed for the downtown, but these are the only ones that have made it to city hall for approval.

^ The styling seems a bit... reserved. Anonymous even. But there's nothing particularly offensive about it, so that's something at least. Although could easily end up becoming offensive if they cheap out on the finishes.

Kinda neat to note that Edmonton will be building its 2 new tallest projects (Stantec 250.8m/Delta 190m) as well as its new tallest pure residential (Encore 130m) at the same time.
