I agree, I also wish the projects less than a block from train stations were at least twice as tall here in Chicago.
I'm also a big fan of Jamison Square and Tanner Springs Park in Portland.
The Pearl, and central Portland in general, benefits from their relatively tiny block sizes (20 to a linear mile in the area between the 405 and the Willamette).
