I believe that title goes to ACC Pinnacle Campus in SW Austin. The building currently stands at 145ft.

That would actually make Domain 8 the tallest outside of downtown, UT and West Campus. plus the highrises just south of the river. Pinnacle Campus is actually the tallest right now outside of the core. It's 160 feet tall to the top of the mechanical penthouse. That 145 foot number was an estimate from the building's management, and is only to the main roof.

The tallest buildings in that area are 130 to 140 feet. So a 167 foot one would be considerably taller than those. And it is 167 feet (166 feet 10 inches) to the very top of the mechanical penthouse. I used a piece of paper to measure that last ledge that wasn't listed and compared it against another measurement on the elevations for a section that was 2 feet wide. It should stand out fairly well from that area and even from quite a distance. I'm not sure if it'll be visible from I-35 or not, but it might. At 167 feet it would be our 84th tallest if it were complete today.

Here's a rendering of Domain 8. I think renderings were posted somewhere in the forum a while back.

I wouldn't have guessed it was that tall. Maybe only 140 feet or so. Granted it's 146 to the main roof, but not being able to see the mechanical penthouse I didn't think it would be much taller than that. I still want to see something crack the 200 or even the 300 foot mark in that area. I want to be able to see something poke up from miles away. And it would be nice to see the Domain form an actual skyline eventually. That won't really happen unless we start seeing more buildings above the 150 to 200 foot mark. It would be one thing if Austin were flat, but even downtown can disappear when you're in North Austin.

I'm looking forward to Domain 8. It should definitely stand out from the other buildings in the area. Right now there is sort of a plateau effect, as most buildings are in the 4-6 floor range (with the exception of the Westin and and Archer hotels, which barely poke above the cluster). There are still open areas on the NE side of the Domain, zoned for office. Hopefully those will be relatively tall as well.

What are they building next to Top Golf? Presumably more apartments.

It's behind a paywall, so I'll just post the link.

Endeavor ramps up office projects at North Austin hotspot

With a couple dozen tower cranes casting shadows across downtown and the University of Texas, it’s hard to believe there could be another area of extreme construction activity — but there is.

Not sure what exactly they are building, but my guess would be more apartments or a Public Storage.

The article is not that interesting and very short. It basically just recaps the three or so office buildings under construction right now including Domain 8.

Most excited about the local establishments that will be on Rock Rose. This should add some needed character.

Yeah, if only we could start getting density and pedestrian interaction alongside both sides of Burnet, rather than having the Domain be entirely inward-focusing.

Agreed, although it does seem some development is spilling over Burnet over by Top Golf. Hopefully, if it keeps spilling over toward the train station, we would see some response from the city to help pedestrians/bikes get across the street safely.

Taking the extension of Esperanza (at least I'm assuming it keeps that name, Google maps doesn't list anything for it) as it curves down towards the Kramer station isn't too bad.

There's even a green box for bicycle priority crossing Burnet there.

Crossing at Kramer got improved as well. Westbound Kramer across Burnet used to be a right-turn only lane, so cyclists crossing into the Domain there (technically) had to merge over. Now the lane continues across.

I have walked that a few times and it really isn't bad at all, I think if people were more apt to walk in this town more people living in the Domain would be using that station more, as of now it is a bit a ghost town.
That said, there is more development already there on the east side of Burnet and it looks like something is about to start construction near the intersection of Burnet and Braker.
I'm most curious to see if we start to see any redevelopment of the industrial type parcels between there and the single family neighborhood to help tie the 2 together better.
