Love some of the comments in the Edmonton arena article, in particular from Enok. Baseless claims that none of the office towers and condos would have been built without the new arena. Please...

in the worst case scenario, I don't care if it costs me 10$/year to fund the arena. life is about having fun, and the price of a Mtl-Qc NHL rivalry is worth a lot more than 10$/y.

Thanks for sharing though, does look pretty cool on the inside, quite the cozy yet intense atmosphere it will be. I'm sure a bit part of the draw the first couple years will be Saskatchewan fans living across the country making the pilgrimage home to check out the new digs.

I thought it was going to be a total fail... took a while for fans to filter in... wind was terrible (saw one sign taken by the wind and fly past me)... but as more signs were held up at the 2 moments, it really came together. Well done indeed. ~25k signs
