I think WestJet could have made the arrival of its first 767 a bigger deal ie. not arriving at YYC at 1am but i guess at least it has finally made it.

What, they no longer hand out miniature blue Delft houses in KL business class? If they still give them out, seems to me its something worth mentioning in a video such as this. I have two of them at home!

Will be using the KLM flight in a couple months. Too bad the LHR flight is not flying during Dec and Jan or else I would have been able to cut out a layover.
On the positive side, by flying YEG first and not connecting in YYC as AC would like me to do and using AMS I get to save $400 a ticket (times 3).

Indeed. And if you book using the multi city tool - you can stop off in Amsterdam for a few days before going onward or on the return...drink Heineken, pay homage to a Rembrandt or 2, and all that jazz.

Did a dummy booking on expedia from YEG to LHR in December, and AC was cheapest. between 100$ to 200$ RT cheaper than KL in fact, depending on the day.

Agree with Black Star, that commentator was awful. I suspect she was on an award flight. Her normal blogging pattern suggests more of the backpacker crowd.

You need to brush up on your WBC service standards. The Delft Blue houses are offered at the end of flight just prior to landing. They contain Dutch gin as the FAs need to monitor alcohol consumption during the flight.

Delta is doing direct service to Seattle with a CR700 starting this December, us Winnipeg people are jealous lol

That's beside the point. She could and probably should have still included it in her video. Those Delft houses are a unique KL touch to WBC. If she spoke about the amenity kit, something pretty much all airlines offer in business class, she should have at least shown the Delft blue house she got as well.

But as you and others have said, she was pretty awful in that video, so its no surprise that her presentation of KL's WBC was incomplete.

To me this seems more like another piece of Delta's declaration of war against AS at SEA as opposed to "YEG, you so fine".

The blogger brings piss poor shilling to a whole new level.

The blogger was on a one week press junket paid for by Travel Alberta and KLM (although in fine tradition KLM probably just tossed in airfare). There were at least two other bloggers on the tour.

From the original blogger quoted above, one would think all the tour did was visit Banff for two days. I was just about to post a Picard/Riker double faceplate against Travel Alberta, who traditionally think Banff is the only thing to do in Alberta besides going to the Calgary Stampede.

At the very end of the Sabina's blog post, there is mention of the other two bloggers.

The tour was for all of Alberta. My faith in humanity and Travel Alberta is restored. Edmonton stops were: the mall, Fort Edmtonton, Elk Island, Jasper 2 days, Banff for two days. The tour appears to have avoided the Calgary area, which is okay as this familiarization tour is part of the graft given to KLM for starting YEG-AMS.

I will now go through the third blogger, Peter, posts and see if there is additionally information. Sabrina and Peter were sitting together on the plane, so it's possibke they are a travel blogging team. Sabina and Peter are also bloggers with benefits.

Not a well informed review. I have not business on KLM but it does not look as good as the Air Canada pods.

On the Delta front. Nice to see expansion. However Seattle is becoming crowded. Thankfully it look like it will be a pre-clearance flight, biggest problem is crowing in immigration. They need to address that area.

My perception is Delta is simply ignoring Alaska and just building up it hub one destination at a time.

It's another good run down of the fam tour.

After reading all three blogs, it's apparent there was a miss match between taking three budget travel blogger on a five star luxury tour. They had KLM world biz class on the way over, stayed at Banff Springs (which is suggestive that the stayed at Fairmont properties along the way), and then took economy comfort YYC-AMS on the way home. Contrast with the activities being either budget adventure travel or Eco travel.

To put it another way, people who fly KLM WBC don't do the Eco travel or budget adventure travel. The budget adventure travel crowd does not stay in Fairmont properties. Infact, if you doing the budget travel blogger routine, you don't want to highlight the upper class luxuries you receive on a comp'd tour.

This is the answer to the Delft Blue House location. Either the bloggers didn't take them because it doesn't fit their purported lifestyle, or they took them for secret souvenirs.

I live here, so if I really thought it was that bad I'd just leave. Did you see SEA's July numbers after Delta's push? AA's LAX will be leaving, UA left, couple other transborders aren't doing so hot... therefore to me this is more likely associated with Delta's push at SEA than anything else.

Don't let the facts get in the way of your hatred for anyone who says something even remotely negative about YEG. Any new route announcement is good news, especially transborder.

Your quickness to jump to the defensive of YEG is embarrassing. Relax, buddy.
