Thank you for your insight. That's probably the best comment I've read on this thread in 6 months.

The final version of NES ATP and Evergreen extension bus integration plan is released. A few interesting note about the integration:
  • 97 and 190 are cancelled, as expected
  • 160 to terminate at Kootenay Loop and will provide local service throughout the entire route
  • Every second 160 during peak hour will extend into downtown (local? or as 135? good luck trying to squeeze onto the bus in downtown during pm peak)
  • 151 will run from Burquitlam to Port Coquitlam via Como Lake, and will use articulated bus during peak hours
  • 158/C35/177 will be revived between Braid and Planet Ice (std bus peak, shuttle off peak)
  • C37 and C40 will connect PoCo with Coquitlam Station, instead of C38
  • Guildford portion of 97 will be replaced by a new FTN route
  • 153 will be wholly shuttle; C27 will always use std bus; 157, C24, C30 will be mixed. So much for the 'C' prefix...

I can see the 135 being stealthily turned into a B-Line once the 160 local service to Kootenay comes into play...

Also disappointed that the middle of old Coquitlam is still not receiving the attention it deserves. It's like they prefer buses doing donuts around there with a multitude of confusing route numbers vs a simple and proper frequent transit network. Sigh.

Finally, in the longer term I think they can combine the New 7 with the 188. In this way, they can take pressure off of the bus loop at Coquitlam Central AND bring FTN service to Port Coquitlam and Burke Mountain at the same time.

Where does it say that the 151 will be using articulated buses during the peak hours. I've read through the document a couple of times and didn't see anything mentioning about that. Also, I think it would of been better of if the " new " 151 went along Mariner Way, mimicking the 143, instead of going along Spuraway Ave. Then the 152 will go along Spuraway Ave instead to cover those areas.

I'm not sure how times I've mentioned this, but I really think Translink should get rid of the C prefixes once and for all. You got shuttles buses operating on conventional prefixed routes and vise versa. To makes things simple for everyone, they should just revert all the C prefix routes back to their original route numbers and if they were a new community shuttle route, give them a new route number.

If they want to send every 2nd 160 DT during peak, then they might as well edit the 190 to do what 160 does now. I think it would be too confusing for 160 to have 2 distant geographic locations during peak hours.

Its in Appendix C.

Yeah it would be weird to have articulated bus going down Spuraway as its narrow and curvy. Mariner is a much better suited for articulated bus.

Maybe they'll just have the 160 change to a '10 Downtown' at Kootenay Loop.

If the 160 is going to head downtown, I'm very sure that they will keep it as express to/from Port Moody. Otherwise the 160 buses to/from downtown will just fall behind schedule owing to both a surge in demand and lack of traffic capacity, and this will cause the local buses to bunch up and get overcrowded.

In any case, I think that all the talk of keeping the 160 to/from downtown is premature. Despite all the criticism from the community, TransLink knows very well that keeping an hourly 160 Downtown service during peak hours will just duplicate and slow down local bus service while wasting money that could be better spent elsewhere. In fact, I predict that it will disappear during one of the service optimizations sometime within the next 5 years.

Still absolutely no mention of the 791, neither to say that it's staying in service nor to say that it's being discontinued

Thanks for that document and exactly ! It'll be like putting articulated buses on a community shuttle route, it just doesn't seem too right to be honest.

I know they've talked about doing that - how long it will take them to do it... ?

it is getting to be "late august"

A long while back, in a galaxy far far away, we had a discussion about how things on the TBM were going to restart in "late July" after the miss on the early July restart date.

It is getting to be late August. Some people were speaking with great authority about how "August was going to be the start".

Perhaps my glasses are too spotted to see clearly .. has anyone seen or heard anything about this"late august start of the TBM".

It is getting to be time for people to start telling us all that "late September" is for sure.

What do you do, put these things on your calendar specifically so you can gloat? There are a lot more rewarding things you can do in life. Just sayin'...

Maybe they found a bunch of treasure and they are bringing it out slowly.

Or, proof of aliens! That would be sweet.

Or, they ran into a secret oil pipeline that is being built while the public is being fooled over Enbridge and TransMountain projects.

The discussion in this thread has degenerated into something along the lines of "how concrete jersey barriers must look for the PMH1 project"...

Now that you mention it, the concrete Jersey barriers on the Evergreen Line, along Clarke Street in Port Moody, are really ugly.
