I think Fisher Account was being sarcastic, but yes - that's a good one. Ganong of Saint Stephen NB does indeed make Wonka brand candy, and I think is the largest chocolate company in Canada.

I don't think I'd like to have Willie's countenance staring back at me from the crest of the new events centre - that would give me the heebee-jeebies!!

It would work with that colour scheme, though!

My brother (visiting from Alberta) came back to the Maritimes and was visiting my other brother in the hospital. He had a craving for a Ganong Roman Nougat bar. I told him "You'll never find that, I don't even think they make it anymore" All it took was going down to the little shop in the hospital lobby and there it was. Ummmm Nougat.

A bit of trivia, Arthur Ganong was the first to make any sort of a wrapped chocolate bar.

And now back to our regularly scheduled stadium thread

I prefer those type of boards to the long rectangular ones.

Similar in shape but the ACC board looks to be significantly larger. The Winnipeg one looks tiny actually. Compare the vehicles around them.

I too prefer the shape of that kind of board. They have some style to them rather than just throwing up a big ass screen.

The new stadium in Regina is looking pretty incredible. I think it will be a fantastic venue that will provide a great atmosphere.

Also, where were you able to take this photo from?

Here's something unique...a cosplay music video with a few clips of a hockey arena (Rogers Place) under construction in the background.

I'm guessing that's just a nighttime screen capture/still from the South construction cam.

This is really an amazingly audacious and ballsy project for Calgary to take on... a multiple facility project like this is a very rare thing. You don't often see it outside the Olympics... it has never been done before on Canada on a scale like this, and even in the US I'm hard pressed to think of places where it has been done. (KC's football/baseball complex is one... any others??)
