Hahaha. Yeah it is kinda funny. As bad as these 'Mills' malls are though I'd hardly compare them to a pipeline like Northern Gateway.

Today is Laval's 50th anniversary!

That would make things more interesting for sure.
But it applies to the city's development, of course. There's hope for some new cool projects if developers could make a little effort instead of building clock towers and smart centres in the downtown area.

At least the Laval building had the decency of staying out of downtown. That Edmonton monstrosity is right in the core of the city!

This morning I was idling in parc jarry (the slight northern half of the island) and I actually saw the Laval Cyclops from the trail. I saw it with my own eyes, from extreme low altitude from 10km away.

To be fair it's not in their direct CBD. I think it's more akin to Calgary's Beltline.
