Speaking of which - the low rise building next to it is being converted to 8 loft like apartments above the 1st floor retail/commercial. It was/is offices up there.

Yes. This exactly. EXACTLY!

Go to the Daley Plaza everyone. It looks really good. Also, remember, 6 more floors.

Block 37 Resi: Two floors to go as of 7/31 PM

Couple things on the big block:

Only 2 floors to go as of this afternoon - just went by to confirm......addition is a total of 34 floors, and they now have 32 of them up.......we have yet to get an official height on this one.....my guess is somewhere in the 440'-450' range above Randolph.....

Also, don't forget there's a block 37 thread......

Really? Wasn't aware that it was shorter - I think all sources (Crubed, ChiArch, even the development site, etc) have all been saying 38, but perhaps it was supposed to be 38 TOTAL floors, including the existing 4 of the mall. Thanks for getting that info Sam.

Can't say I disagree. There are six highrises on Wells between the river and Chicago that are either proposed or under construction.

1. 215 W Hubbard
2. 707 N Wells
3. Debevic's site (NW corner of Wells & Ontario)
4. Blanc (SW corner of Wells & Ontario)
5. 720 N LaSalle
6. 167 W Erie (Gino's East site)

^ Put me down as well. I love some of these wide slabs as well. Not everything needs to be taller and thinner.....

2 Weeks ago they posted on a job website that they're looking for a project manager.

Isn't there some kind of story behind those eagle statues?

I am fairly new to the city and was wondering if anybody here knows the story behind the vacant lot at the intersection of Franklin and Washington? I have not seen anything online that indicated that there was ever a plan to put anything there pre-recession or since. I was surprised that there is not a tower there, given its location.
