I hope part of the plan is to bury the power lines we can see in the foreground.

Also yes a MUCH better angle!

I doubt the power lines are in the scope of the project. Will likely (never) get done after completion.

The pathway project might be able to deal with them. But we shall have to see.

On a slightly different tangent here, I'd bet that you guys recall the days when skydivers used to frequently jump into Taylor Field a few times/year during Halftime. In recent years, the Rider ball club has been reticent about allowing such activities. With the new stadium, I'd bet that such activities would be no longer due-to-the-fact that it would be most unsafe for jumpers to land in such a confined area. For next year, hopefully there will be a few jumps into old Mosaic though.

I'll find out more about this in coming weeks.

It has happened a few times; however, they usually land exactly on target. (I know those guys pretty well.)

A typical load for SSS's C-182 was four jumpers + pilot.

During one particular load during the '90s, two landed at centre field. There was one fella who landed about six blocks to the northwest and another one landed in Victoria Park! And yes, from the same load!!! Lol!!!

I was a mere attendee at the game for that one.

So just reading that Boston has withdrawn from candidacy for a 2024 Olympic bid, with the result that Toronto promoters are getting all excited. Won't it be just great if our Federal tax dollars go to pay for a billion + dollar Olympic (read NFL) Stadium in Toronto, after we did not get a nickel for New Mosaic.

I am still sore about Hamilton getting huge Federal money for Tim Horton's because it hosted part of a 2 week soccer tournament for the Pan Am games. Many of the soccer games were not even played there and many that were had less than 5000 fans. What a scam on the taxpayer that is. At least it is for the CFL.

The Olympics make me sick. There is certainly no more colossal waste of money.

All the soccer games were played in Hamilton. The feds won't fund a stadium that will be converted into an NFL Stadium for a billionaire owner. Most likely a portion of the stadium will be temporary allowing for conversion to a smaller capacity.

Oh I did not realize CIBC and Tim Hortons were the same stadium. I can see Toronto "sharing" the cost of an Olympic stadium with those bilionaires.

It's too bad that the bids for the 2026 FIFA hasn't been finalised yet; we could have received $$$$ of federal money as well for our new Mosaic. Lol. (Since Mosaic is to be FIFA-approved.)

I agree, but with the exception of a place like Los Angeles where you wouldn't need any new buildings really. The biggest flaw in the Olympics (besides the massive corruption and kickback schemes) is that they insist on having new places built, even if existing venues are satisfactory.

Really they should have like 2 or 3 cities that just rotate it.

Perhaps we can get the feds to kick in the money to turn it into a complete Infinity Bowl and add a retractable roof
