It's a rental building. There's no need for pre-construction/pre-opening sales. Wait until a few months before it's ready to open.

I'm also a bit worried about this one. I contacted Ashcroft in January to ask for renderings, but no luck. On the bright side, there's no way it could look worse than the Emerald Towers on Loretta right... right?

Will it not looking something like this still? No idea on the colour of the cladding, windows, etc but based on the shape of the poured concrete it looks similar to this design. I'm hoping the dark and light colours on the outside facade aren't tacking tetris colours or similar.

Not just no renderings... this whole project is very quiet. Not much fanfare or criticism from anyone.

Small windows and no balconies! Oh well....and its going to be taller than the SOHO Champagne!

"The development will include a 28 storey residential building designed for mature student lifestyle. There will be a total of 156 rooming units"

That's an average of 5.5 rooming units per floor......Can't be? What is a rooming unit?

Yes that would make more sense looking at the floor size. Each rooming unit would be equal in size to a large 3 bedroom unit.

If all else fails, it'll make a nice slum right next to a pricey condo. Only in Ottawa.

Its called the Emerald Tower, I think they'd have to change the name if they coloured it anything else.

Found this. I don't know if it's an old version of the project or plans for tower 2 but it is and/or was and/or will be called Capital Hall:

Correct.

The second tower on this site will be Capital Hall - a condominium. The first tower is a rental building, the second a condo. The second tower is going to be sold to investors and will come with a 2 year rental guarantee and 2 years of free property management and the units will be fully furnished. Quite similar to the University Suites project in Kingston if you are familiar with how that one went.

The rental tower will have 4 and 5 bedroom units.

The condo will have studios and double occupancy units (some 1 bedroom+dens and some 2 bedroom units).

Occupancy is supposed to be Spring 2018 for the condo.

If anyone is interested feel free to grab the info here on my website: truecondos.com/capital-hall

I am no real estate expert but that seems like a very odd business plan.
