I was just trying to figure that out... Actually in Google Earth you can go into the "historical imagery" (button at top) and slide it to different dates. For that area the default is September 2013... but you can slide the bar right and get images as late as May 2014.

I can only imagine it defaults to a "complete" set of imagery depending on your zoom level.... but there are LOTS of dates to pick from for that area depending on the zoom.

Doesn't explain why Maps is August 2014 and that date is not available on Earth though...

I spotted my car from September 2014 when I was on a site visit with clients. The Street View car took images on the same day I think but at different times as sometimes our cars are there and other times not.

Some shots from May 2015 have been posted. Locations includes at least some from Gatineau as well as parts of Tunney's and downtown.
And yes I've spotted myself in one of the shots.

Quick turn around if they have April and May 2015 imagery already up. Mainly downtown Ottawa updates, including Landsdowne Park area.

417 has been updated from about Riverside to as far west as Eagleson Road and they've also updated parts of Teron, March and Campeau.

This is probably near the area the westbound buses will lay-up before starting at Campus

It's not the default imagery, but if you use the historical imagery feature you can see May 2015 aerial imagery on Google Earth for some parts of Ottawa - Tanger, Minto Arcadia, Shania Twain concert construction, Westboro Connection etc.

Some areas along Hazeldean Road in Stittsville indicate June 2015 imagery. It appears as though the time lags to upload new imagery are getting shorter and shorter.

Saw them in the Glencairn area today. The driver told me it would be about 8 months until it is uploaded. That seems a longer upload delay versus some summer 2015 imagery that is up now.

They've updated my area as well back in August. Barrhaven I think also had some updates along most of the Strandherd area (various months), parts of Riverside South also (at least Earl Armstrong Road).

They've seem to be doing randoms updates scattered throughout the city every month or so. Riverside South is one prime example (Vimy Bridge in August 2014), Spratt Road South in September 2014, River Road and Earl Armstrong in June 2015 and so on.

In Barrhaven, we are still waiting updates inside Half Moon Bay which are from 2012 (only on Greenbank and Cambrian it is more recent)

Kanata also has a huge variation of dates. The new area off Terry Fox north of the Centrum is still as of 2012. Another example is around the CTC, we only see the CTC sign from the 417 as well as eastbound Palladium Drive. Huntmar Drive is still from 2012 as well as directly in front of the CTC and westbound Palladium Drive still sporting Scotiabank looks

Have a look now. The October 2015 imagery is up in places in Kanata. Also on Preston Street. Great before and after imagery from September to October 2015 for the infill project @ Preston/Laurel pre and post demolition of buildings previously on the site.

Cool. Just don't "stand" too close to the corner or you won't get the new imagery. You need to be out in the street.
