Was just going to ask the same question. I got the official height of the 1st tower 2 years ago, I have it at home (from my memory I thyink it is 118 or 119 meters).

I went by there today. On Central Blvd, the non-window wall is now getting some kind of mosaic. Part of it is up and I saw blue, green and yellow. We'll have to wait until more of it is installed to find out if it's a picture or just colours bleeding into each other.

From what I saw (admittedly from the Skytrain) it was small mosaic tiles. I hope it's a picture but anything (even randomly coloured large panels) is an improvement over a blank wall.

There's a mosaic in front of Moda now too! Trippy! I thought it was a high-def screen or something at first.

Am I supposed to be looking at the blue volume bars 'cause I'm distracted by that white box with grey / black spots that's hanging in the middle of the picture.

More of the mosaic is up on Station Square and it looks like it'll just be colour shifting. They look like iridescent tiles so it does kind of look like a HD screen at first.

Yeah, the blue condo one... the one that looks like a cheap developer solution,
rather than the more artsy Ontario College of Art & Design by Will Alsop (the white pixelated box)

Woah those blue panels, are they spandrel? Can they do that on the side of a building that will clearly have another tower butt up against it?

I mean, if the other building does the same, then you could just break into someone's suite in the adjacent building...??

Yup, they're spandrel.
Don't know about leakage or future repairs, either is a building gets butted up to it.

There's one in Richmond on the southwest corner of Westminster and 3 Road disguising a blank wall. It's been there for years now, so this very well may be permanent. Still can't decide how I feel about it.

Yes, but you can use these to pinpoint building's age in the future...2012-2017 the age of asymmetrical stupid boxes. 2008-2013...The age of stupid coloured stripes...Pre 2000 the age when buildings were not all stupid greenish glass...I wonder when the brick is going to make a comeback?

That sounds like great news, KPF is a fantastic shop.

I don't know how this is not getting more attention here, the designer of the Shanghai World Financial Centre and ICC in HK is announced as designing 2 buildings in Burnaby and crickets?
