Have the residential units in Stantec and Delta towers started sales yet? Or are they both being built on spec?

Spec.
Delta (may not be Delta now after Marriott bought them) will be condos, but unsure when pre-sale (if) begins. Above the Stantec tower will be rental, so no pre-sale.

Marriott bought the naming rights to Delta. Many of their brands were started that way. Don't see them discontinuing it. BCIMC owned hotels will still favour Delta branding.
Eau Claire has never been the success it could have been but at the same time didn't have much of a chance. It seemed to be 20 years ahead of it's time.............there simply wasn't a large enough population base to support it. Calgary's downtown at the time was strictly 9 to 5 and it was too far off from the major shopping/restaurant/entertainment district downtown, Stephen Avenue Mall.
Eau Claire was a good idea at the wrong time but now all the stars seem to be lining up for it's rebirth and this is a great and beautiful proposal.
Montreal's Place Ville Marie makes room for the view
Visitors will arrive on the tower’s 43rd floor from the complex’s shopping gallery. The 44th floor will feature open terraces, and a Les Enfants Terribles restaurant that will serve local delicacies, without high-end prices, to entice more locals to venture up.
The 45th floor will offer an “immersive experience,” Mr. Taillefer says, with touchscreens that will show “what’s making Montreal’s heart beat” – food, culture, art, told from the perspective of Montrealers.
The top floor will be dedicated to the view – the mountain, the river, the surrounding cityscape. “It’s going to be something that people will be very proud of,” he says.
I really like this vision for PVM.
Is there still an observatory at CIBC ?
No man, they're still planning a 3rd tower on their downtown campus.

I know I'm a little different in "Architectural" style that I like and I know I'm probably the only one, but I just can't get my hands around the 5 building Eau Claire project! Don't like it at all... Height has nothing to do with it.... To me it looks like an alien colony on the planet Kripton.... but that's just me I guess.
How is Calgary still building Condo's? My parents are selling their place in in downtown Calgary and are taking a $40,000 hit from when they bought in 2005ish (with no bites yet). Not including the $20,000 they sunk into the place. The market seems way oversaturated.

Sounds like your parents overpaid. After a few consecutive years of leading the country in y-o-y- price growth, prices have really only stabilized here this year.
Slower this year but since fall towers such as The Royal, Parkside, Park Point, Orchard and smaller inner-city projects have still launched with sales ranging from 40% to pretty much sold out.
Sales have slowed for sure, but Rollin Stanley's looking pretty genius helping to transition the city to 50% growth in existing communities over the past 5 yrs with 80% of metro growth still within the city proper.

a city can have a lot of 'proposals' but whether they go to market or not is a different story. calgary home sales in june are down nearly 22%. i don't think people are rushing out to buy new pre-sales condos right now so there's going to be a correction for sure. price declines are seen across the board in calgary now.
doubtful most of these proposals will come to fruition in the foreseeable future. not until oil posts some major gains which doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon.

Further to your questions, the Ice District just opened a newly renovated presentation center one block south and west of the Arena to provide updates on buildings developments, information for those interested to arena seating for future season ticket holders and, although not specifically mentioned, I suspect it will be used as a presentation center for condo sales and future rentals enquiries when the time comes.

Remember now . . . just "Ice District" - lose the "The".
