I agree. Hopefully they don't spoil things by adding chain-link fencing!

Will there be bathrooms?

There will be plenty of areas for junkies to shoot up and prostitutes to turn tricks. In addition I heard word that they are reserving an area of the park for a future Mad Max style Thunderdome for hobos to have death matches in.

Better idea. Why don't we suspend the combatants from the lamp sculpture and have them do battle.

Working on getting a comp/rendering of the new Community Garden (and more!) from East Village. Will post if I end up getting anything.

Didn't realize it was going to be up so fast!

Is it going to be this colour, or will they spray it once it is up?

While I don't recall any brilliant colour in the model previously shown, wouldn't mind some (like with the peace bridge). Probably not going to happen, but just thinking out loud.

Considering what the EV has become already, never mind ten more years down the road, it is great to have the (recent) past documented like this

Thanks for posting the video! reminds me of the days when I would go photograph around East Village, but make sure I left before it got too dark. Now it is so different.

So does this stuff simply not exist anymore or have these unfortunates simply been displaced / lost to density?

They were re-located to school playgrounds in the inner city. A surplus of the displaced homeless people is being kept in a warehouse for future use in St. Patrick Island's Hobodome deathmatch arena.

I noticed from my office today (around 32nd/Deerfoot) that Pulse can be seen poking above the landscape in front of the Guardians .. Nice to see the skyline in that area of the core filling up!

I wonder if the artist is on site supervising the install or is he just phoning in? Again.
