It's always good to recognize potential talent early but we tend to get a little carried away with future pronouncements.
I used to maintain the Canadians Abroad list many years ago (before MLS) when most of our potential young talent was outsourced to Europe. I can't tell you how many young men who were trialling or even playing in the system of many high profile European clubs have gone by the wayside, hundreds. They were "household names" amongst the Voyageurs (NT fan club) for a short time and then disappeared into obscurity.
So its good to be positive and recognize talent but let's also temper it with some reality, there's a long road ahead for these young players.
