To me that part of DT Montreal has so much potential. The proposed office towers by CF look good but the recent re-designed condo proposals by the Canadiens ownership look like absolute unimaginative shit. Still not sure how the park going over the viaduct will turn out. I wish Montreal was more daring with its tower proposals. The most interesting developments are midrise and arts buildings. There hasn't been anything groundbreaking design wise for a high rise in decades.
And I will never get over the fact that they built this over the Windsor Station tracks instead of the (still empty) lot just south of Saint-Antoine. What a lack of vision.

Yep. At the time there was only the Vaudreuil line ending at Windsor so they didn't think it was that big of a deal. Now there are three commuter rail lines ending at Lucien-L'Allier... It wouldn't be so bad if the station was expanded and the tracks covered (like Metra's LaSalle Street station).

At least Windsor Station still stands. But what a gateway to downtown it would have been.
Looks like change could be coming to everyone's favourite skyline. Unfortunately there aren't any buildings going up directly in front of the infamous clock tower.

^I'd call that a lunar landscape, except nowhere on the moon can a region be found that is as ugly as depicted in the above photographs.

Some highlights include, Lester Street, King Street, and Ezra Street.
Ezra is ugly, King St N is really ugly, but Lester is so ugly it's actually a bit funny (in a tragic sort of way). I agree that is likely one of the most ugly neighbourhoods in Canada, to the point that I don't even get agitated when people post pics of that weird clocktower building in Laval.
To be fair this one in Calgary isn't finished yet ( still has scaffolding up) and it's going to be getting a shot of red colour with red metal panels on the first 2 floors, but it's a pretty textbook commie block dressed in new clothes.

My friend took this picture yesterday while we were wandering around in Laval.
The quality is very low, but I thought it was too funny/creepy/sad to not be shown.
