Seriously, why doesn't someone corner this guy (King) and start pressing him. If the concept is as good as he says then he should start building momentum to get the thing built. Think of how long Ottawa and Winnipeg took from dream to reality. It takes time, time that is being wasted now.

A lot of ppl dont have the time to say or spell artificial. They refer to "turf" as artificial turf. Grass as grass.

I agree - it's to the point where no one takes KK's "announcements" regarding a stadium/arena seriously anymore. If it's so great they should be dying to announce the plans.
I remember when I first heard KK announce the intentions about a year ago I was so pumped. And since then it's just been making the same announcement over & over.
I can't help but wonder if the provincial election result has thrown a wrench into the plans. My fear is they now scale back to just an arena which is bad news as a stadium is much more badly needed in this city IMO.
Guess we just have to wait and see (fingers still crossed).

They had an article on the Montreal Gazette (last year) that challenged the bullshit figures put out by the Quebec government hacks, the newspaper interviewed some of the top demolition experts in the U.S. ( including the head of the legendary CDI) all of them were totally baffled the ridiculous estimates put out by the Quebec government... PS blowing up that pile of shit would pose no problems even though there's a subway tunnel nearby according to the the real experts ...check out some of CDI's work http://www.controlled-demolition.com/

Had the chance to play Glen Abbey in Oakville yesterday for the first time. The PGA tour stops here in a few weeks with the RBC Canadian Open.

I'm not Completely against the idea of a renovated McMahon stadium. New seats, Concourse expansion (washrooms) ,destroy the low income housing in the endzone. It wouldn't be great but if Calgary is stuck with it they might as well renovate the hell out of it

I have Valid point's on Vegas weather you choose to believe it or not. they set a goal of 10,000 STH's and got 13,000 in a very nontraditional market. And Casino's frequently buy up UFC tickets and tickets to shows so why wouldn't they buy NHL tickets? In march they had sold over 9000 season tickets to individuals (non coorperate)

And to say the 39.6 MILION+ people......hang out a second let me repeat this.....ALMOST 40 MILLION PEOPLE that visit Vegas each year wont make a difference in ticket sales is just ignorance.

The ticket drive began in February with investors targeting individuals and small businesses. The second phase of the drive, now underway, has targeted larger corporations, including casino owners.
Those corporate clients have committed to 1,000 season tickets and there is an expectation of 500 more, ESPN.com reported. Along with 735 suite seats that have been sold as part of 10-year deals, the report said the group expects to have commitments for more than 13,000 seats.

Looks like this Fort McMurray "home" game for the Argos was a disaster. Too bad they didn't know that there'd only be 5000 people in advance and just had the game at Varsity and saved everyone from having to fly to the middle of nowhere. What a joke...

^ I stated this several weeks ago. The game had only sold a couple thousand seats at that point. Apparently there are only 6000 or so in the stands today. Organizers are no doubt taking a bath on this as they should. Charging $100 for a seat near centre field is one thing, but charging $100 for seats near the goal line and in the temp seats is a sign they over-estimated the market.

Did they really think thousands of Eskimo fans would make the 4-hour drive to Fort McMurray, waste money on a hotel, followed by another 4-hour drive home all for the privilege to pay $100 for a seat in a college level stadium?

This is one of Canada's top golf courses, posting her is acceptable in my opinion. Fine it's not a stadium or arena, but it is a major sporting venue in Canada.
