Wow…that really does look fantastic!

Original Star Wars script discovered in University of New Brunswick library
SAINT JOHN, N.B. — The Canadian Press

Another claim to frame for SJ…it's awesome but odd! Maybe George rolled though Saint John back in the 70's, got gunned and left it behind?

More good news..

Moncton building company brings 50 jobs to Saint John port
IAM Building Systems builds pre-fabricated, earthquake proof buildings for the Caribbean market

More jobs for the city, more business for the port and it's NB based which equals an all around win, more emphasis on growing local based business will be what drives growth in the province.

...and full approvals were given by the Heritage Board this evening. Forget pipelines and potash; these are the kind of developments that Saint John needs -- investments in urban quality of life!

Projects like these ONLY happen because people like Keith Brideau believe that the future economic engines of growth-such as the pipeline- that he needs for his project to generate a return on his investment over time, will happen.
Real estate development does not happen in a vacuum. It's a byproduct of economic development. What you don't see happening is a result of a lack of economic development. What you see happening is because of people that believe that the spin offs from projects like the pipeline will give a boost to the economy enough to support their projects.

Yes, an excellent way to showcase the Uptown way of life! For a "first" attempt at something like this, I thought Uptown Saint John did a great job - we were very involved in a similar program in Toronto - Cabbagetown Tour of Homes - and it was always a huge success and charity fund raiser. Looking forward to this becoming an annual event but would like to see more private residences on the tour. Great job everyone!

Does anyone know whats going on out in Quispamsis, at the corner by the Mc-Esso off the highway?

It looks like the corner across from the new Irving is being prepped for something. Hopefully something good.

Second Refinery Now Seems More Likely!!

Apparently, Irving Oil is snapping up a lot of property in the Red Head area, and at double the going rates, and according to the CBC report below, it is believed they are planning to revive their plans for the second refinery. Let's hope so!

I really hope that this goes through.

Would love to see more development and shopping in the valley, especially more places to eat.

Didn't they try and build a Wal-Mart near here a few years ago and the town went ballistic??

Rothesay went nuts about it. Quispamsis was on board I believe.
Would be nice to see that out there but even if it wasnt that, some more bigger stores in the area wouldnt be a bad thing IMO.

Also there is a nice park in the middle of it. I think if done right, it would really look nice and bring some value to the area.

We could only wish thats what they would do.

As much as the people are going on with the whole NIMBY stuff, it brings jobs and spurs the economy around here.
We need to invest in more things like that, even if they are not 'green' tech.
