It's probably a trial run as a statistical projection - possibly for the winter months. Ah, who knows? Hopefully, it will be a success.

Can't seem to find a schedule or even a website. They are supposed to be flying YQR and YXE to YWG.

I just noticed Flair Airlines Flight 830 currently enroute from YOW/Ottawa to YQR.
It is scheduled to land around 7:37 pm this evening (www.flightaware.com). It's a B734 (Boeing 737-400).

Does anyone know if this is a charter, a cargo flight or a test for scheduled passenger service to YQR?

It was a charter carrying England's National Women's soccer team from Ottawa to Vancouver. For whatever reason they had a short stopover in Regina.

Saskatoon International Airport is pleased to announce additional air service from Air Canada and WestJet. “Saskatoon International Airport thanks our valued air carrier partners, Air Canada and WestJet, who continue to respond to Saskatoon’s needs with additional capacity into our market,” says Stephen Maybury, President and CEO of Saskatoon Airport Authority.

Both WestJet and Air Canada have added an additional daily flight between Saskatoon and Calgary. Additional frequency to Calgary enhances connectivity to major airports by utilizing Calgary as a hub.

In addition, Air Canada is launching a new seasonal red eye flight to Toronto, running from July 1 to August 31. The red eye flights creates another option for passengers and doesn’t require the need for an overnight stay to catch early morning connections from Toronto. The red eye flight departs from Saskatoon at 12:35am, arriving in Toronto at 05:41am.

WestJet has also increased its frequency to the Vancouver market with service six days per week, up from last summer’s three flights per week.

“With the increase in domestic air service, YXE expects to gain back 58,000 annual seats to the Saskatoon market.” states Stephen Maybury. “This gain in air service helps address the loss of 55,000 seats when United withdrew its service from Saskatoon in February,” Maybury continues. “Saskatoon International Airport identifies our connectivity to major world airports as a key focus over the short term. We will continue to work with all of our air carrier partners to improve connectivity with increased frequencies or new routes for our community.”

Delta Air Lines continues to offer twice daily service between Saskatoon and Minneapolis. This long-standing service provides passengers access to 325 destinations in over 60 countries on six continents through the Delta global network.

It's a two and a half hour flight from Winnipeg... I suppose at that point most people would rather just sleep in their own bed and get up a bit early, rather than have a short night on the plane.

Another WJ flight diverted to YXE evening of June 30. Plane on runway surrounded by RCMP and fire trucks. Nothing on news yet - but presume another bomb hoax. Two diversions to YXE this week.

UPDATE: Just heard it was WJ323 YYZ-YXE. -so technically not a diversion.

No more hoaxes for almost a week now. Hopefully that run has ended.

Hopefully the caught the people doing this. Alternatively they may have become more realistic in ignoring these phone calls.

I can guarantee you that no air carrier will ever "ignore" any bomb threat. ( . . although they likely want to as-of-late.)

I noticed when Westjet announced their 2015-2016 winter schedule yesterday their blog said "we're adding flights to and from...Saskatoon" and "extending summer service levels through this winter in cities like...Regina." This was all in reference to their domestic schedule.

I can't seem to find more information anywhere...does anyone know details?

I don't have any hard facts, but from what I understand, the added flights are more frequency between YXE and YYC, and the extended summer service is the YQR to YVR to go all year. What the frequency is, I'm not sure, but nothing has been posted yet, so won't know until more details come out.

Again, I haven't seen anything regarding this. This is just info I'm getting through the grape vine.

I was in the Saskatoon airport over the weekend --my first time. That's a very nice looking airport. I'm impressed. I hope you guys are able to attract some more flights.
