This is the Huston Heights project based on the render.

Looking closely you can see that in the lower right it has a U shape in the building. That is the Super 8. As the Super 8 has a stand alone building in its lot as well as the U shape and wrap around building. Its only partially showing but its clear that this is the project on the South East side of 12th. The article is just mistaken about the North East location.

I found these two buildings on the "in progress" page of STG Design.

Capitol Study
Austin, TX
200,000 sq ft

http://stgdesign.com/portfolio/in-pr...capitol-study/

CBD Study
Austin, TX
216,000 sq ft

http://stgdesign.com/portfolio/in-progress/cbd-study/

Not sure if one of them might be what's planned for the lot currently occupied by the Austin Music Hall.

Anyone have any info?

Unfortunately those are old, and we have had WTH are these discussions about them in the past. I wish I could point to the posts, but there probably way back in the update thread.

I went back and found the two posts.

Here's the first one

It was by me. I "found" the renderings and asked about them last April. How embarrassing. I don't even remember that. Must be dementia or too much vodka. I'm going with the vodka.

Here's the second one from JoninATX

Quote:
The top rendering I believe is for the lot east of the William P Clements State office building on 15th & Lavaca. There was an early version of the project that had a few more details. The 2nd one is off West St. Remember they had a similar project years ago but got shot down due to the nimbies thought it was too tall.

Site plan for a 4-story mixed use apartment complex on Wickersham. The address is 4544 East Oltorf. The elevations show it to be 60 feet tall to the mechanical penthouse roof.

I think that's the one that was referenced in the Austin Business Journal the other day.

Out with the old Riverside Drive, in with the new; Developer Presidium has new plan
June 10, 2015

The article was about a 5.6-acre site at 1600 Pleasant Valley Road where apartments are planned, but it also mentioned:

Quote:
[Jim] Young [partner with Longbow Real Estate Group] has represented Presidium in two other acquisitions — a burned out apartment complex near Wickersham Lane and East Oltorf Street, which will be redeveloped — and two lots at 2714 and 2730 E. Cesar Chavez St.

I'd hate to have one of the units with a balcony looking at the back of that billboard.

Maybe they're hoping that when the next building is built they'll remove the billboard. I agree completely - wouldn't pay for that view.

I think we're forgetting about the billboard owners. How do you think they feel that 1/2 of their investment now advertises to only 10 people.

Another office tower sitting on top of a parking garage....sigh....this time half and half. Great filler spot though, it will definately add to the transformation in that area. But even though the floor count is slated to be 24, I only count the office / condo / apartment / hotel floors, not the parking garage floors. In my mind, a 24 story office tower has 24 floors of office space. I would prefer they call it like it is....a 12 story office tower on top of a 12 floor parking garage. It illustrates the reluctance of developers to build that signature office tower I've been waiting for, like a taller version of the Frost tower or better. Until then, even though we are getting taller, with a plethora of these buildings going up, as a critic once said in an architectural magazine, Austin's skyline is best seen from street level.

Is this info available online anywhere or in a brochure that can be scanned?

As far as I know, at this point, it is broker access only. Project is still developing, thus, specs could change in the coming year or so.

Has anyone seen info about this:

501 W 6th (nextdoor to 519 W 6th) http://austintowers.net/downtown-austin-question-marks/

They want to build a mixed-use building here. I think it will be limited by a CVC, though.
