200 Edgewood is officially under construction:
http://www.spoke.com/press_releases/557a1828b2690adc55004171

"The community will consist of one seven-story building and two historic rehab buildings featuring nine studios, 25 one-bedroom and 110 two-bedroom apartments."

Also of note - while it does have parking, it's 110 spaces for 254 residents (plus 12,000 sqft retail). So at least it's a start on a smaller parking:resident ratio.

Atlanta streetcar driven TOD

Sanctuary Residential has broken ground on 200 Edgewood, a $33 million mixed-use urban infill community on 1.2 acres across the street from Georgia State University, the Grady/Children's Hospital Medical Complex, and the new Sweet Auburn Curb Market streetcar station. The community, which will offer 144 fully furnished units (254 beds) for students as well as medical interns and residents, is expected to be complete by July 2016.
This is a stellar infill location -- practically on the Georgia State University campus and walking distance to the hospital," said Bernard Felder, Director and CEO of Sanctuary Residential. "200 Edgewood will offer high-end, boutique student housing and will be one of the first transit-oriented development along the new Atlanta Streetcar line. Sanctuary Residential is thrilled to be contributing to the revitalization of downtown Atlanta with this exciting project."

So, this is posted up on the former Sprint/Clear space? I'm now curious if they are thinking about putting one of their newly proposed 365 model stores here.

Exciting times

Without question, these are exciting times in Atlanta. Certainly the most going on development-wise since I moved here in 2000.

Ralph MCGill Blvd

A prolific Texas multifamily developer looks to be headed for another Atlanta project, fresh from completing two here recently. JLB Partners has filed permits with the City of Atlanta to ready land at 608 Ralph McGill Blvd for a new 268-unit Class-A apartment project. JLB, which just completed 782 Peachtree St and JLB's Chastain Gateway (here), will add a three-level concrete parking “podium” for the project as well, according to permit docs.

Here's a view of the other side of the project

It's worth looking at the site plan. With the slope of the site, most of the parking will pretty much be underground. Townhomes will front Glen Iris.

Looks plain as hell and no retail also sucks, but that area around O4W park continues to densify.

Bisnow's rendering must be wrong because all the others I've seen (like the one shivtim posted) show a completely different design. While it's nothing groundbreaking, it's a whole lot more interesting than the suburban clocktower thing in that article.

You're right, Bisnow posted an incorrect picture. That's "Chastain Atlanta" at 32 Chastain Cove. I've never heard of it (and it's not on devmap) but apparently it's either under construction or completed.

Edit: Bisnow updated their article to specify that "Chastain Gateway" is pictured.

Bisnow also incorrectly reported the project as a downtown project when it's in the throngs of O4W. They also reported that the JLB project on Peachtree as completed - scroll up a few posts and it's clear that only a few levels have been constructed.

Sometimes it feels like these Bisnow people never get out of their Buckhead offices.....

Some Picutre

Walked by the Modera site today. No one was working but they are erecting a crane.

If you haven't been by the 1010 West Peachtree project in the last 72 hours, you probably won't even recognize it.

The building is pretty much demolished from what I can tell. And serious dirt removal has happened

You can see it live on the Seventh webcam right now, but I can't tell if the whole thing is coming down.

Oh. Well, that lot was just sold... I guess the new owners don't want it there. It probably won't be developed any time soon though. Nothing has been brought to the DRC or anything.
