City is starting work to remove trolley lines on 11th Ave from Broad to Winnipeg. Also dealing with sewer lines, rebuilding road, fibre optics, etc. Work to take until mid-October.

It seems like some faulty reporting, but how do the following two statements work?

1 - "During morning peak travel periods, 85 per cent of Reginans are in a car, eight per cent are walking or biking, three per cent are on the bus, and four per cent are using some other mode of transportation."

2 - "The city expects the use of sustainable modes of transportation to increase to 36 per cent from 29 per cent during peak times."

Morning is 15%, but then overall peak time is 29%? Are that many people really walking home right now? Almost 43% of people taking sustainable transportation in the afternoon?

I would assume carpooling is considered a sustainable mode of transportation... so it would be included in the 85%, and in the 29%.

Regina ' s goals are basicallywhere Saskatoon is today. Very unambitious goals. Particularly when it comes to the U of R. U of S already has 85% of students commuting in a sustainable manner.

A little fyi thing here:

There will be big changes for the T-intersection of 25th Ave/Campbell St. A divided Parliament Avenue will bisect that intersection in the near future. In fact, Parliament is already being paved right there, all the way right up to the "T". That'll have potential consequences for the farm right there.

'Didn't see that coming.

What changes, exactly? I noticed that Parliament starts to curve north where it ends right now (and is angled at the intersection, which seems odd, usually you'd think they would begin a curve part way through, not right at an intersection), which I thought was odd.

I think the future plan is to run it directly south of that homestead. However, I expect when they do they will Annex it as well. Unless that was the owner of the land that Harbour Landing West is to be built on. Than I would say the owners are WELL aware of the next steps.

Harbour Landing West https://www.regina.ca/opencms/export/sit...hl-neighbourhood-plan---october-2014.pdf

Something sad here is they bottlenecked Gordon Road past Fontaine Blue condo development. SO that will be interesting. I think they should of kept that as a 4-lane divided Ave. But hey whatever right...

AND they bottlenecked Jim Cairns as well at the same point. The only 4-lane road is now Parliament. Living in HL West is going to really — at rush hour as there will be only 3 roads that connect to Lewvan, and 2 of them will be single-lane residential roads. Really poor future-proofing, not sure how they got away with it.

Perhaps Parliament will eventually have some sort of major intersection there in the future, whilst Gordon and Jim Cairns may eventually be terminated at Campbell.

The future land use map for West Harbour Landing shows Parliment Ave, Jim Cairns Blvd, and Gordon road all continuing on across Campbell all the way to Courtney. It also shows Parachute Blvd as a major North/South road connecting to the number one highway in between Campbell and Courtney, but who knows if highways would allow that to happen. The Regina transportation master plan calls for Gordon road to be extended half way to Courtney in their short term plans.

There is quite a parcel that is being staked to the northeast; it's on the northwest portion of land on the corner of Fleet and Inland Drive. It appears that there will be a fair number of businesses located there.

Either the RM of Sherwood has paved the road recently or there is another definition for "paved road" that I'm not aware of.

Yeah, the roads around the Parker Subdivision are absolutely amazing! ( . . until one reaches the stretch of Inland Dr between Winnipeg & Albert. OMG!!!)

What is going into the old Sportchek next to Chapters behind Southland? They've got plywood up over part of the front and work going on inside.

It looks like they have divided the space into two separate stores.

There's a hot yoga studio going into the Gardiner Park Mall. The explosion of gyms and workout places in the southeast continues.

What a photo!

We've seen lots of photos of the stadium(s) with city skyline, but surely this is one of the best. Already posted by Migs in the Canada and Regina stadium threads, the photo deserves a spot here too.
