Assuming we're talking about getting things ready for Pan-Am, it's a different situation with Union as there are plenty of platforms and entrances/exits to use. In fact, over the last few weeks there has been a huge improvement in increasing the traffic flow.

West Harbour GO station is a lot more critical to get functional in time.

Apparently Premier Wynne will be making the LRT announcement herself as well. Wouldn't be surprised if she announced it at West Harbour GO Station sometime in June.

Where'd you hear that? Should be really good news if she's making the effort to announce it herself.

DRESCHEL: The $1-billion waiting game
Premier rumoured to take centre stage at transit announcement

http://www.thespec.com/opinion-story...-waiting-game/

There are still no details or a definite date for Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca's upcoming visit to explain how Hamilton fits into Ontario's transit plans.

But scuttlebutt continues to suggest big things are in the offing — so much so it's now rumoured Premier Kathleen Wynne herself may be taking centre stage at the announcement that's expected later this month or in June.

If so, there's no way Wynne will be coming to town to deliver bad news.

I feel like this station is at the point where it hasn't started to look awesome yet, but once more of the cladding is done, the aesthetics will improve. I love the shape though, and the glass.

Hard to believe it will be finished enough to have even one track ready for the PanAm games. It is only a month away on Sunday!

Still no Pan Am GO schedule for the new station right? I'm hoping I can use it to get to work a few days at least as the new station is a bit closer to my house than Hunter.

Not yet. It'll most likely be a last minute thing.

Might not be too useful for getting work though if you start in the morning. They've suggested that the trains will be scheduled to come into Hamilton for when the games start, then go out to Toronto in the late evening when they end, with no service in between I believe. Kinda lame since the events are happening all over Toronto and Hamilton, and obviously people from Hamilton will want to go out for those events as well.

Yeah, some great perspectives. It really is a large area that's under construction.

I think it'll be done for sure, but what will be done becomes more and more clear every day.

Walking by yesterday, I could see that they're busy installing the dark grey finish cladding along the roof, and that all of the glass was installed. They're also beginning to lay concrete for the bus loop. I also noticed that tracks have been installed at the Bay Street bridge.

Nice to see the tracks going in. Will there be two sets of tracks running underneath the station buildings or just the one?

Via GO Transit:

Starting July 13, regular weekday service to the new West Harbour GO Station will begin. There will be two new trips to Union Station in the morning and two trips back in the evening. Look for more information coming soon about the new station and GO service!

Lakeshore West GO Train
• A weekday eastbound trip will depart West Harbour GO at 6:16 a.m. and make all stops to Clarkson GO then express to Union Station arriving at 7:24. This will be an extension of the 6:30 a.m. trip from Aldershot GO.
• A weekday eastbound trip will depart West Harbour at 6:46 a.m. and make all stops to Clarkson GO then express to Union Station arriving at 7:57 a.m. This will be an extension of the 7:00 a.m. trip from Aldershot GO.
• The weekday westbound 4:47 p.m. and 5:23 p.m. trips from Union Station will be extended to West Harbour, arriving at 5:59 p.m. and 6:35 p.m.

GO Bus
• Eight weekday westbound GO Bus Route 18E trips will connect with trains at Aldershot GO Station and service West Harbour GO Station on request only.

^^ May we assume that the existing train schedule to/from Hunter GO will remain in place?
