Someone in another thread was asking how many cranes would be visible on the syline during the DNC- seems like this building will be topped out well before that event. So subtract 2 from the speculative total. Seems hard to believe they can hit 49 floors and have the exterior panels/windows in place in 6 months. That would be incredibly aggressive.

Is only 47 floors. Lobby is on "upper" walnut street, but make no mistake there are at least 2 and maybe 3 floors between upper and lower walnut street.

But are the floors below the main entrance on upper Walnut Street actually included in the official 49-floor height? I know that under the criteria of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, they wouldn't be included in the official height measurement:

seeing a near complete soaring gleaming asymmetrical futuristic skyscraper on the skyline is more dramatic than a construction crane(IMO)

I was traveling on Walnut near Rittenhouse and was surprised by the amount of massing visible from 18th and Walnut. We haven't seen any pics from this angle recently so I took this photo near 22nd and Walnut:

I know it is probably premature to even ask, but at what point does any glass go on? I would imagine that the open walls are required to move in the interior materials, but will they start any of it before they're ready to do all of it?

They are starting to fireproof the lower floors. My guess mid summer is when glass will start being installed...

What exactly is fireproofing? I can't find a good explanation on google.

Fireproofing might be referring to the flame retardant spray they use on the interiors of the building, such as the steel framework.

in 1885 they used pores terracotta tiles to sheath the steel frame against fire(invented by the Wilson Brothers of Philadelphia)

by 1970 there were using asbestos and now today a type of concrete

in the 1850s some structural iron buildings of around 5 stories built in NY and Paris had fires and suffered catastrophic collapse. This came as a surprise to the engineers of the day. The iron, like the steel in the World Trade Center, when exposed to 1500+ deg F for 45 min or so did not melt but did lose its strength.

They spray it on steel beams and the underside of the steel decking that supports the concrete floor in modern highrises.

You mean the Delaware memorial bridge? There is no suspension bridge on I495 in Wilmington.
