The Capitol, 18 floors, downtown Kingston. Need a source for this, but I believe if built it will be Kingston's new tallest.
It's a repurposing of an old movie theatre that closed in 2012; the old theatre will become a pedestrian entrance to the tower.
A bit of a shock due to its location within the heritage core; all the city's plans call for high rise development to be on the outer fringes of the downtown, in the vacant lots to the north and west and along the waterfront.
It does do a very good job of massing itself away from the heritage core; the building is oriented more towards Queen Street, a fairly insignificant street heritage wise, and is set back considerably from Princess, the downtown mainstreet.
Most of the parking is above grade unfortunately (3 levels above ground parking, 1 level below ground) but that's probably necessary due to Kingston's low housing prices, which I imagine making large construction expenditures unprofitable.
There's only 132 parking spaces for 223 units. The units are a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom units with a total of 325 bedrooms.
Overall public reaction is quite positive with local business owners quite excited by the hundreds of potential new customers. Most concerns are about precedent and whether or not such tall buildings in the heritage core are desirable. Not much NIMBY panic at least yet.
