THF isn't going to 'steel' any beauty pageant awards away from anyone, but it is a nice stadium that's for sure. Pragmatic and well thought-out it seems.

I think THF looks incredible. Still a part of me questions if they really got a bargain When put beside IGF at a price difference of 60 million. I don't think I have to point out the differences between the 2 beyond the 7000 less seats and a canopy to get the picture of the obvious differences in the 2 venues. Something tells me I wont feel the same way between IGF and Mosaic. Mosaic will clearly be a great stadium but I don't think it will blow IGF away to the point where ill be questioning the 90M price difference between the 2. I just feel like for 150M Hamilton Could have got more for a no cover Stadium. I would be hard pressed to believe the Canopy at IGF cost less then 40M itself.

A little update on the MTS centre looks like they have all the old ribbon board stripped off down to the exposed concrete but the old scoreboard still hangs.

IGF will be getting some millions in remediation work, so make sure you include that in your comparison. I don't know what the total value is at now though; perhaps a Winnipegger could chime in?

The total cost of THF was actually $145 million. So that makes a bit of a difference. Pretty sure the demo of ivor wynne is also included in that $145 mil figure.

I definitely think it was great bang for the buck.

THF is not a bad stadium per se, it's just very basic. It looks like a simple rebuild of Ivor Wynne as opposed to something that is a vast improvement on it.

I'd have been ecstatic if a place like Halifax or Quebec with no CFL heritage had built THF, but it does feel like a bit of letdown for a place like Hamilton which is steeped in football. THF will be the most underwhelming of the new generation of CFL stadiums.

Having been to thf and ivor wynne, let me tell you the former is a vast improvement.

The basic no frills stadium suits Hamilton. Nothing flashy is needed in hamilton. Just a stadium with all the revenue streams to get the job done. And lets not forget it had the smallest budget of all new cfl stadiums.

No question it is the most underwheling of the new cfl stadiums though. Sometimes less is more though.

I noticed in pictures today leading up to the tfc game that they installed an LED ribborn board on the face of the east side upper deck. This wasnt there during the home opener. Are they planning on installing one on the west side as well?

The enormous plaza behind the one end zone at thf is impressive and will make for an ideal gathering spot before the game and during the halftime. I feel it could use a little colour though. Some black and gold, maybe a giant tiger-cats insignia

I would imagine both sides will get it. It would look pretty silly if not. On the Rendering it shows a ribbon on both the west and east side

The plaza at the south end of THF is actually outside of the stadium. However, I am sure if Hamilton secures a Grey Cup game there will be temporary stands in that area.
