Yes it's pretty generic. I can't see a single thing that's unique about it other than the exterior, which is certainly unique but not necessarily in a good way

Why wouldn't TFC who at the time were the only MLS in Canada attempt to do the same thing?
I understand why they do it from a marketing perspective, I just think it's lame. I feel like people would cheer for them regardless of shoving the Team Canada thing down everyone's throat or not.

I thought I read somewhere on the CFL forums that a video was shown at the draft that showed BMO in CFL mode?

Yo OilbustKountry, should be interesting! I wouldn't be so excited about the Argoleaches continuing their ugly step-sister routine at yet another stadium (3rd stadium in the last couple decades is it?). Well at least we'll get more revenue to reinvest into TFC during the Leaches stadium attendance-bump until they inevitably go belly up and will try to mooch off another teams investments...

In the meantime, here's a nice pic of BMO Field in its new CFL configuration, wow you can't even tell the Argos are the ugly post-menopausal step-sister!:

While not specifically about a new sports facility, this announcement is notable as it refers to the same property as the previously proposed Markham GTA Centre.

http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2015/05/20/new-york-u-seneca-campus-to-be-built-in-markham.html

A new York U/Seneca College combined campus to go to Markham

Is this the final nail in the GTA Centre coffin?

I can't wait to hear Argos/CFL fans use the lake-effect and the crappy multi-use/not-made-for-CFL excuses for their terrible attendance when the Argos move to BMO Field.

The only advantage BMO has is that when it only has 10,000-15,000 fans, it doesn't looks as empty as the Skydome. The Skydome was perfectly fine for the Argos, what made the atmosphere crappy was the lack of fans.

Man MC, you just reek of insecurity.

Hey, on the bright side at least you don't have to worry about the Argos interfering with TFC playoff games... Or overshadowing their championship banners.

I find it odd that there is no mention of the GTA Centre plan in the article.

Funny part is they don't even make up for that with decent TV ratings.

Jesus christ.

Whats wrong with these RPB. Stop attacking the Argos and the CFL and wishing ill will upon them. The general population is starting to get sick of this whiney entitled attitude. You guys aren't making yourselves look good to the public, and ultimately since its a publicly owned facility, thats who you need to appeal to.

"ugly step sister" routine isn't entirely true. 40 years ago exhibition stadium was for the argos only, then the bluejays came in and they reconfigured it and made it brutal for cfl. this reconfig won't even affect sightlines and we're promised won't affect pitch. whats goes around comes around, argos were in hte same position as TFC 40 years ago. Thats life in a publicly funded stadium.

And this move is better for the argos because they may still be a step child but now they aren't an ugly step child. The stadium is publicly owned and not owned by the other team trying to kick you out.

As for CFL fans, dont stoop to that level. No need to bash TFC. If you don't like one or the other just get on with it. If you like both even better, support both.

Haha! RIGHT! I think it's a pretty bold statement to say they are gonna go belly up when they haven't yet. BMO will only help the franchise. Further more It's not TFC/MLSE's stadium It's the cities! and a big chunk of the same people making the big investments now OWN the Argos lol win win win! The CFL is finally in the right place! And TFC will be just fine. Both great franchises and can breath the same air i promise! This is a great day for Canada.

You love parroting out the 'insecurity' line for anything to do with TFC fans, yet it's your CFL fanboy buddies from as far away as Saskatchewan and Alberta with no connection to this franchise who are registering on TFC and MLS forums to talk smack about TFC. Who's insecure? If you can't see the face in your own mirror then there's no point explaining to the illogical.

A quote from OilbustKountry:
"It will be known as a CFL stadium this time next year TFC will be an after though in the summer sports scene in Toronto. BMO field Home of the Toronto Argonauts ....and that soccer team"

And THAT...is CFL-fan logic, an example of why there's no point talking logically with you guys and more fun laughing at you...
