^^ Nordstroms is known for their extremely good customer service. Places like Target and Walmart could be argued to have the worst/no customer service.

I feel sorry for those that lost jobs at Target also, but they're better equipped to find work at something like Walmart where customer service isn't considered necessary.

Not trying to be denegrating here, but frontline Nordstrom jobs could never be properly filled by 99% of existing retail staffers in Canada. The cultural divide is huge.

I think it's because the staff at Target worked for a bargain retailer to the masses. Nordstrom though, is high-end and pretty exclusive, so they'll be looking for a different demographic with both customers and in the staff they hire.

In English this means 'You can't pay Canadians enough to kiss ass as Nordstrom is about to find out'.

I'm reminded about how Virgin finally had to pull out of Germany-staff simply refused to be toadies and told the employer to stuff it.

That's not what I've seen @ the Seattle store it's quite mainstream both the goods & the service and prices are nothing to email home about.

Do you know where COS might go? H&M might like to see them next to their Pacific Centre space, where Miss Sixty/Energie was. Is that too small for COS?

With the rumours of Uniqlo opening at Metrotown, everyone has assumed it would be in the Home Outfitters space, with maybe a portion on the main floor. But with Mexx/Mexx Kids closed, and Bowring closing right beside it, maybe Uniqlo could combine those spaces into one. Hmm... I was just at Metrotown today, and I think I might be on to something. La Vie en Rose has now moved to another part of the mall. With the other three, that would create a combined space of just over 12,000 sf, plus a small service corridor. But is that big enough for Uniqlo?

Yorkdale Uniqlo - 24,000 sq ft

As of now Surrey has 3 Wal-Mart Supercentres: Guildford, 88 Avenue/124 Street, and Grandview Corners. Central City would be Surrey's fourth Wal-Mart, and Scottsdale would be Delta's first Wal-Mart.

Given the Central City Target was originally The Bay, then Zellers, and there is already a T&T at Central City, I doubt a Supercentre will be opening in that space. Same goes for Scottsdale as that mall already has a Save on Foods.

I think people live up to the expectations that are set for them and the training the receive.

Uniqlo - Bellevue Square - 13,000 sq ft
Zara - Bellevue Square - 26,000 sq ft

Both to be carved from the former JC Penney store and opening Fall 2015.

Kemper said it’s in talks with other retailers to keep filling the 200,000-square-foot space left behind by J.C. Penney when it closed last November. Uniqlo, also scheduled to open in the fall, will occupy some 13,000 square feet in addition to Zara’s 26,000.

I dont see Uniqlo moving into home outfitters unless they have access to ground level. There is a store moving in where the watch places was, forgot the name on vinyl.

They could also use the former Mantique space next to MS store and the Jewlers

Call It Spring in the 1000 block of Robson is permanently closing on May 23, according to the sign in the front window. Little Burgundy appears to be staying open.
