That will be great, The Theater District really needs this overhaul. It's pretty much a dead zone other than when people go into and get out of plays and shows. And the buildings down there are butt ugly 70's and 80's abominations against mankind.

White Oak Music Hall brings multi-stage music experience to Houston

Pegstar Concerts head Jagi Katial is a busy man. The concert promoter is in the thick of final preparations for the sixth edition of Free Press Summer Festival, the two-day music festival in June that the concert promotions group has put on at Eleanor Tinsley Park since 2009.

He’s also overseeing the construction of a five-acre, large-scale live music complex just north of Houston’s downtown at 2915 N. Main and North Street.

Dubbed White Oak Music Hall, the new venue will feature three stages. There will be two indoor stages (one smaller, one larger) and one located outdoors which will have capacity for up to 3,000 people to rock and or roll under the stars.

The smaller room can accommodate up to 400 people, while the larger room is expected to be able to hold up to 1,400.

Katial hopes for the first show at White Oak Music Hall to happen sometime in February 2016, barring any extreme weather issues.

TMC Innovation/Reseach Campus

Could break ground as early as next year. The TMC is also considering a raised Monorail for the campus that would connect to the existing light rail. Gensler is the architect.

If that place has to exist, I wish they could overhaul the cheez factor of the aquarium. It makes Bayou Place look like a class act. Is that cinema still at Bayou Place? To be the only movie theater in downtown, it sure is hidden. Is Edwards the only mainstream cinema inside the loop?

Yes, the Aquarium is laughable. The only worth it has is the view from the ferris wheel at night.

Sundance Cinemas is still at Bayou Place and it is quite a nice place to watch movies, the seating and food are far above average. Edwards at Greenway is the only mainstream/large cinema inside 610 that I know of.

Finally theyre building that, I remeber seeing renders walking aroung that area of Woodlands as far back as 2010 on the site.

The article has been revised to now include this tidbit of info:

Doyle said other sites along the Waterway eventually could hold more towers.
"We have multiple sites that we will gradually develop with this type of quality product," he said.

Also, I much prefer the original design.

Even the Dallas Morning News says there aren't many signs of a bust. That could come later.
