Even if it's shorter Montreal will still have a more solid skyline for a long time and seems to be growing still.

This looks nice as well.

Off topic question: I've never been to Montreal's Little Italy, is it worth a visit I will be in town next weekend staying in Griffin Town.

BIG NEWS! BIG NEWS!

Ottawa-Gatineau is getting a new downtown tallest, if this new proposal happens.

Because of Ottawa's strict downtown height limits, there's not much height... the tallest in the city is 112m / 29 stories (Place de Ville C).

Taller proposals, such as the now U/C Icon (45 fl) that will be the new city tallest once it completes, and the even taller Sky proposal (55 fl), have thus far been limited to the Dows Lake area a few kilometres southwest of downtown.

But apparently, the height limit does not exist in Gatineau.

So, a 55 story hotel/condo proposal has now emerged in Gatineau's core, directly across the river from Parliament and within the metro's combined CBD

Yes it is. Very pleasant area to visit with lots of italian cafés and restaurants, plus the proximity of Jean-Talon Market which is charming as well. And it's easily accessible by the Jean-Talon Metro station on the Blue line.

Marché Jean-Talon is a must if you are into that kind of thing. The ambiance is fabulous and there is tons of amazing eateries.

Nice couple of non-downtown projects for Montreal. The strength and beauty of a city mostly lay in its neighborhoods. Downtown is witnessing a skyscraper boom, but our neighborhoods are getting denser as well.

looks like a C-Loft style render. But the C-Loft is looking good. we could be surprised.

http://www.clofts.ca/photos.html

better looking than the rendering.

/\ That's true. C-Loft is actually quite nice compare to the render, same developper, same architects, so maybe, just maybe...

Grid Condos by CentreCourt & P+S/IBI is launching soon at Dundas & Jarvis:

prelim render--may be up to 52 storeys.

What a fat tower. Units must be dark, deep and narrow.

The tower with a much slimmer profile would fit well in Calgary.

Wow that's a very non-Page&Steele design right there.

Yeah, not the usual inspiration used but, it's still in the same vein of Page & Steele. Mediocre in its best light.
